Mr~ Brown made a motion to accept the minutes of March 6, 1980. Mr. Richard-
son seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 6-0.
LETTER -TO ZONING,- BOARD
Mr. Siciliano passed out the letter from the Industrial Board to the
Zoning Board dated March 28, 1980. This concerns the zoning of the F.E.C.
land. He submitted the letter to the Zoning Board April 1, 1980, and they
decided that they would hold a Workshop on April 16, 1980 at 1:00 P.M.
Mr. Witzig asked if this would coincide with the Comprehensive Plan?
The City Planner, Mr. Hurley said that the Land Use Map had been eliminated
by the County and the City of Edgewater has also eliminated the map, the
new zoning map will be used.
Mr. Siciliano said that he would like to see a portion of the land zoned
conservation so that it would be left natural and no one could build there.
Mrs. Massey felt that the roads should be thoroughfares. She said that they
could restrict truck traffic.
Mr. Siciliano said that after the F.E.C. land was zoned, they would have to
submit site plans for approval. He then passed out a letter from Mr. John
Gross for the Board to read. He spoke to the Board about an Industrial
Business that is interested in coming into the area and will need 30 acres
of land close to the railroad line for shipping. He also asked Mrs. Massey
to get the normal assessed value of taxes on raw industrial land.
ADVERTISING
Mrs. Brown said that she had not taken the pictures for the slide presenta-
tion, but will get this done as soon as possible. She also said that as of
Monday morning, she would no longer be Postmaster, she has been promoted
to the Longwood Office. She said that Friday March 28th the Assistant
Postmaster General visited Edgewater.
Mr. Siciliano asked the Board's feelings on the best way of advertising.
Mr. Witzig said some kind of Industrial magazine.
Mr. Siciliano suggested direct mail with a letter and a brochure.
Mrs. Brown suggested printing up some of the old brochures and she will call
the Chief April 4th to see if they can get the pictures done. She also said
that the Board will have to convince the City that the Industrial area would
be best for the entire City not what would be best for individuals.
