INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING
March 6, 1980
CALL TO ORDER
Mr. Siciliano called the meeting to order at 7:05 P.M. in the Edgewater
Shuffleboard Court Clubhouse.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Mr. Witzig made a motion to accept the minutes of January 3, 1980. Mrs.
Mackie seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 6-0.
Mr. Witzig made a motion to accept the minutes of the joint meeting on
January 17, 1980. Mr. Kane seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 6-0.
Mr. Kane made a motion to accept the minutes of February 7, 1980. Mr. Duby
seconded the motion. The motion CARRIED 7-0.
F.E.C.
Mr. Siciliano stated that a decision on zoning the F.E.C. land needed to
be made. He said that 1/3 of the F.E.C. land was already zoned 1-3
Mr. Kane asked how the F.E.C. wanted the land zoned?
Mr. Siciliano said they wanted heavy industry which is 1-2. He suggested
putting some kind of special zoning on the heavy industry part to keep
some kind of control on this area.
Mrs. Massey felt that 1-2 would be acceptable along the railroad lines.
The Board asked Mr. Mackie what he suggested zoning this area.
Mr. Mackie suggested_~'possible spLit zoning.
Mrs. Massey said that it should be zoned so that Industries could be put
in to give our children jobs and keep them from having to go to Daytona
or Orlando for suitable jobs.
Mr. Kane made a motion to zone the F.E.C. as follows: from the Railroad
right of way West to the proposed Mango Tree extension 1-2, Heavy Industry.
From Park Avenue North to the center of agriculture I-I, light Industry.
From that point to the Canal 1-3, Industrial Park. Mr. Duby seconded the
motion. Upon roll call the motion CARRIED 8-0.
Mr. Siciliano said that he would draw this up and present it to the Zoning
Board.
ELECTION OF VICE-CHAIm1AN
Mrs. Mackie made a motion to nominate Mr. Witzig for Vice Chairman. Mr.
Brogan seconded the motion.
Mrs. Brown made a motion to nominate Mr. Duby. Mr. Kane seconded the motion.
The motion nominating Mr. Witzig DIED 2-6.
The motion nominating Mr. Duby CARRIED 6-2.

PUBLICITY REPORT
Mrs. Brown said that at least 350 people came to the stamp show from
as far West as Arkansas from Canada and every other State except Hawaii.
She said that next year it would be advantageous for Edgewater to have
the show in the Community Center. She said that $500 was made for the
Special Olympics and some was still coming in. She also stated that the
stamp sales had increased 31%. Mrs. Brown told the Board that by May she
would have the slide presentation with musical background ready for new
people coming into the area who are interested in seeing what Edgewater has
to offer, all of which will give Edgewater plenty of advertising.
The Board elected Mrs. Massey as the Assistant Public Relations Officer.
BOARD COMMENTS
Mr Siciliano said that he wanted to get the Board's ideas to give to Mrs.
Brown on advertising.
Mr. Kane made a motion to adjourn. Mr. Witzig seconded the motion.
