January 3, 1980
CALL TO ORDER
l-a Mr. Siciliano called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. in the Edgewater
City Hall.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Clerk pointed out that in the fourth paragraph of the minutes, it

Mr. Gross stated that he made. a comment about that motion and he asked
that it be in the minutes; he stated that it was his opinion that no one
was aware of what they were voting on when they voted this East of the
railroad. .
Mr. Siciliano explained that minutes are highlights of the meetings, the
girls in City Hall don't have time to type everything verbatim.
It was explained also that if a board member stated that they particularly
want to make a comment, for the record, it will be typed in, and to the
best of the clerk's knowledge this was not stated.
Mr. Siciliano asked if anyone would approve the minutes?
At this time = there was a disruption and the tape is not clear. A motion
was made to approve the minutes. Mrs. Massey seconded the motion. The
motion CARRIED 7-1. Mr. Gross voted NO.

NEWS & OBSERVER ARTICLE
Mr. Gross requested that the letter be read into the minutes.
Mr. Siciliano asked if the Board wanted this letter read into the minutes?
Mr. Gross read his letter. to Mr. Corbett.
Mr. Siciliano stated that he felt this article did not help the Board in
any way.
At this time there was a disruption and the tape is not clear.
Mr. Siciliano stated that the members should asked to be recognized
before speaking so that the meeting can continue without several people
talking at one time.

Mr. Gross asked Mr. Siciliano to explain what he was trying to do.

Mr. Siciliano stated that the article was very inappropriate.

At this time there was a background discussion held by members of the
audience.
Mr. Kane asked Mr. Gross if he wanted to be on the Board.
Mr. Gross said no.
Mr. Kane said that if Mr. Gross did not enjoy the Board he should not be
on it.
Mr. Siciliano stated that all the Board wanted was to open the area.
Mr. Kane made a motion to ~ave Mr. Gross~removed from the Board as they
can not get along with him. Mrs. Mackie seconded the motion.
Mr. Siciliano asked if there were any questions on the motion.
Mr. Duby no question.
Mr. Kane said that he felt Mr. Gross thought the Board members were all
idiots.

Mr. Witzig agreed with Mr. Kane and stated that Mr. Gross was anti everything.
Mr. Jones agreed and said that if the Board cannot get together they are
wasting their time.

2-b Mrs. Massey said that every meeting she has attended has been a battle
royal and she felt that the Board should get more dignified and get a
job done instead of fighting.
Mrs. Mackie said that she felt the same way and that she felt it was not
worthwhile to come and give her time once a month because the Board cannot
get anything accomplished.
Mr. Siciliano said that the Industrial Board was here to attract good clean
light industry.

Mr. Siciliano felt as far as the Zoning and things like that is left up
to the Zoners and the Planners, it's not our job. Our job is to attract
good clean industry.
Mr. Gross asked why the Industrial road has to go through that specific
area?
Mr. Siciliano said that it's the only place that the Rail road property
touches Park Avenue. He also stated that there was a motion on the floor.
At this time there was a disruption.
Mr. Siciliano asked for a roll call vote.
Mr. Duby yes.

Mrs. Massey yes.
Mr. Jones yes.

Mr. Gross did not vote and the Board members considered this a No vote.

Mr. Gross stated that the Board members did not know what the hell they
were doing.
Mr. Siciliano passed out some maps and explained what each one was about.
The maps concerned the F.E.C. property and various suggestions that had
cbeenmade in-the past for the possible zoning of this area. He requested
that the members study these maps for comments at a later date.
Mr. Gross said that anybody that would be stupid enough to think that
the railroad would go along with this doesn't belong on the Industrial
Board.

Mr. Siciliano said that he would try to call a joint meeting between the
Planning, Zoning and Industrial Board January 17, 1980.
Mr. Kane made a motion to adjourn.
