Planning Commission - Tree/Landscape Ordinance See a ttac hed . B. Carl Groepler See attached. 6. Unfinished Business A. Pol ice Mutual Aid Agreement On February 15, 1982 the Council approved a police mutual aid agreement permitting the use of Edgewater pol ice pers- onnel and equipment outside the jurisdictional boundaries in the event of riots, this however, to be approved in advance by the City Manager as a safeguard. These agree- ments are similar to the fire mutual aid agreements. Under the law, agreements may also be signed providing for disaster aid, and for routine aid. This proposal from the Chief is for routine aid. In view of the possibil ities of abuse (use of taxpayers' funds for unl imited aid, reducing Edgewater's coverage), the agreement has been modified via resolution to safeguard the taxpayer's interest by again providing for overview by the City Manager. 7. New Business A. Approval of Chemical Prices for One Year Council approval of the prices of util ities department chemicals for one year is necessary under the purchasing pol icy. See attached. B. Pol ice Car Salvage Bids Units 306, 307 and 309 are ready for salvage. Quotations were received on 306 and 307--309 is awaiting insurance settlement. See a ttac hed. C. Hermosa Palms Temporary Construction Permit The company has requested a six month extension of its con- struction trailer temporary permit, based on economic conditions. Letter was sent previously. No construction has taken place. D.
