This is hold-over from previous meetings.
B. 82~0~31AmendingAppropriation .Ordinance (Employee
Wage .Indrease
In order to provide funds for a 5% across-the-board
.increase for all personnel as agreed at the labor bar-
gaining session, the expenditure side of the budget
must be amended. Please note that the General Fund
budget is now 'balanced' (revenue equals expense) while
the Water/Sewer, and the Refuse funds, still show more
revenue than expense, a healthy condition. Since pay-
day is Friday, October 8, this ordinance should be
passed on am emergency basis.
C.. .82~R~56 .A~~e~~ment .Charg~~ .~ "Florida .Shores Road Program
We have prepared a plan of payment for the assessments.
Subject to your approval, those who pay cash would get
a 4% discount, and those who finance would pay the highest
interest rate offered to municipalities by Volusia County
financial institutions plus 1% for overhead. This will
offset any loss of investment funds normally enjoyed by
the City. The payments may be made over a five year
period, 60 payments.
D. 82-R-57.Wat~r .Managem~ntAgreement - City/School
(Shangri~La)
In order for the Shangri-La development to be completed,
it is necessary to execute an agreement with the School
District permitting storm water run-off on their property.
The agreement should be signed as soon' as possible, as
there is presently a ponding problem in that development,
which can be cured by channeling into ditches as provided
by the agreement.
7. New Business
A; Approval of .Union Contracts
It is expected that all unions will have approved the
contracts by the time of the meeting.
C. PurchaSe of .Pipe
In connection with the Florida Shores Road Program, which
has started, we need council approval to order pipe from
Florida Steel Corporation, as follows: one length 60" x 40'
culvert at $47.83 per foot, total $1,913.20; one length
36" x 40' culvert at $16.69.per foot, total $667.60; and
three lengths 24" x 40' culvert at $8.99 per foot, total
$1,078.80, for a grand total of $3,659.60 (County bid).
