Wright as chafrman of the legislative committee for 1982. He will represent the Association before Council. 6. Ordinances and Resolutions C. 81-0-42 BurnCoritrol Ordin~tice '(T~bled) It has come to my attention that there is a fear on the part of residents, particularly those in Florida Shores, that this ordinance 'will result in backyard burning which might endanger the homes of residents in Florida Shores. While this was not the intention of the ordinance -.the intention was to tighten up on controlled burning - if the ordinance is being interpreted that way, I suggest you may wish to table it pending more discussion with homeowners. D. 82-R-4 Appointment t6 'Recreatiori Task Force The first meeting of the Recreation Task Force was held January 11. Ken.Winter advised me that he will be unable to serve because of business co~mit- ments and I am recommending the appointment of Chief Earl Baugh in his stead. E. 82-0-1 Building Fee Rates As a result of the Pilch case, the City Attorney has prepared an ordinance which ties in building permit fees to whatever formula is currently applied by the Southern Standard Building Code group. 7. Unfinished Busipess Building Official's Report Mr. Murphy has prepared a report on elevation policy in connection with new construction - see attached. .r: ~' .'* 8. These by-laws were approved by a 5-2 vote of the Zoning & Planning Board at their meeting of January 6. . B. Shopping Center Re-Zoning See attached letter from Earl Wallace. The revised site plan for the shopping center to be located at U.S. 1 and Indian River Boulevard will require re-zoning the area west of Alamanda Drive from R-IB to B-5. . This is recommended unanimously by the Zoning & Planning Board. A representative of the Magnuson Corporation will be on hand to answer questions. See letters attached. C. Vacation of Alamanda Drive See attached letter from Earl Wallace. The Zoning & Planning Board recommended unanimously that Alamanda Drive be vacated to make room for the shopping center. I have spoken to the two families who live on that street and they are in favor of vacating the street as it will enable them to clear out and buy elsewhere. See letters attached. D. Approval of Fencing Estimate See attached. It is requested that you approve expenditures from the Federal Revenue Sharing fund to fence the new ballfields. These are two separate jobs - first, a baseball backstop ($1,475.) and second, perimeter fencing ($1,804,50). Both of these projects have been approved by the Board of Governors and the money is appropriated. See attached sketch. E.
