ITEM DESCRIPTION /SUBJECT:
Three Engineering/Architectural Consulting firms have been short- listed by staff to provide the
technical expertise necessary to design and develop the Edgewater Recreation Complex project
site. The three firms in alphabetical order include: Hoyt/DSW, Marshall, Provost & Associates,
and McKim & Creed. Each firm will have one half hour to present to City Council their
background, experience and general approach in addressing Edgewater's specific project criteria.
The half -hour time frame will be divided into (15) fifteen minutes for presentation and (15)
fifteen minutes for questions and answers.
BACKGROUND:
As part of the Edgewater Recreation Complex design and development schedule, the City of
Edgewater advertised for Engineering/Architectural services in conformance with The
Consultant's Competitive Negotiation Act to obtain the most qualified firm. City Staff (Kyle
Fegley, Terry Wadsworth and Jack Corder) evaluated the six requests for proposals and reduced
the number of firms to three. Each of these firms will present their proposals to the Council,
who in turn will select the most qualified firm. I have attached a copy of the City of Edgewater's
evaluation form which can be used as a guideline to rank the firms. Input from the Parks and
Recreation Board was received by the Parks and Recreation Director and was factored into the
staff evaluation.
RECOMMENDATION /CONCLUSION:
Upon review of each firm's request for proposal and presentation, determine which firm is most
qualified to perform the architectural and engineering services associated with the Edgewater
Recreation Complex site.
FUNDS AVAILABLE: ACCOUNT NUMBER : Edgewater City Council earmarked reserve
funds to be used for this project.
