12-03-2008 CITY OF EDGEWATER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING Minutes December 3, 2008 8:00 a.m. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Robert Lott called to Oder the regular meeting of the Economic Development Board at 8:06 a.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2008, in the Community Center. ROLL CALL: Chairman Robert Lott Present Oscar Zeller Absent Eric Caplan Absent Bob Williams Present Tim Howard Present Marcia Barnett Present Patricia Reid Absent John Nelson Present Also present were Planning and Zoning Liaison Pat Card,Planning and Zoning Board member Robert McIntosh, Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Steve Dennis, and Board Coordinator Pat Drosten. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes from the Regular Meeting of October 1, 2008 were presented for approval. MOTION by Mr.Howard,SECOND by Mrs. Barnett to approve the Regular Meeting of October 1,2008 minutes as presented: MOTION PASSED 5-0 CITY AND OTHER REPORTS: City Manager Update None Planning and Zoning Board Update Mr. Robert McIntosh summarized the November P&Z meeting. Mr. Pat Card discussed the upcoming P&Z Board agenda. SEVCC Update Mr. Dennis gave a brief 1pdate regarding the Chambers recent activities. CONTINUED BUSINESS: Program of Work -There was discussion on how the Restorations project may impact the City and on the Boards role in providing education to the citizens on the benefits of this project. There was also discussion on the Volusia County Q3 meeting data and on how the election results might impact the Boards future effectiveness. Discussion also ensued on how the current economic environment will affect the City. CHAIRMAN AND BOARD MEMBER REPORTS: Ms. Barnett handed out the 3rd quarter and November real estate statistics she compiled. OTHER BUSINESS: None at this time. ADJOURNMENT: There being no further business to come before the Board, a motion was made and approved to adjourn.
