NEW BUSINESS
Disability Retirement of Gary McElroy
The Pension Board reviewed all available information in reference to Gary McElroy's
disability retirement request. Gary McElroy had suffered from a heart attack while on
duty. The documentation showed that Gary McElroy was presently at maximum medical
improvement, and could no longer perform the duties of a Sworn Law Enforcement
Officer. His attending Cardiologist Dr. Taher Kahlil, and an independent examination by
Cardiologist Dr. Michael Nocero Jr resulted in this diagnosis. It was found that these
records had been forwarded to attorney Ken Harrison with negative results, and no
answer back from Harrison. The special meeting had been called due to fact that Gary
McElroy's employment with the City of Edgewater had officially been ended. All
forwarded correspondence was incorporated into the minutes for review.
MOTION
Dan Blazi made a motion to approve Gary McElroy's Disability Retirement. Lawrence
Leaf seconded this.
