Mayor Thomas thanked everybody that participated in this and put their time and effort into it. To build something they have to have a plan. He looked through the plan and felt it was very well done. City Manager Barlow explained the purpose of this was multi -fold. Mr. McIntosh has been representing the City on a volunteer basis looking for grant opportunities. This gives them additional points and further qualifies them for grant opportunities going forward as it relates. He informed Council at the Regular Meeting they would see this as a resolution, adopting this by Resolution. After it is adopted they would transmit a copy to the Regional Planning Council as well as their County partners and their neighboring partners. City Manager Barlow further explained this is the roadmap going into the future as it relates to Economic Development for the City of Edgewater. He commented on having a continuity of operations so they can continue the City as progressing forward, which he felt has been a weakness of Edgewater for so long. He commented on it giving clear direction to the City Manager and staff going forward with the objectives and goals they want to see in the direction of the City. It gives them a benchmark. City Manager Barlow had appreciation plaques, which he gave to Mayor Thomas to hand out to the citizens that participated. Mr. McIntosh stated he had left out two members of the CEDS Committee who were present, City Manager Barlow and Development Services Director Darren Lear.
