SPECIAL MEETING
NOVEMBER 4, 1992

MINUTES
Mayor Wessler called the special meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in
the community Center.
There was a pledge of allegiance to the flag.

(Resolution 92-R-24)
Mayor Wessler read Resolution 92-R-24.
Councilperson Gillespie made a motion to accept Resolution 92-R-
24, seconded by Councilperson Martin. Motion CARRIED 5-0.
outgoinq Council comments/Adjournment
Councilperson Martin stated she appreciates the confidence the
people have put in her to continue on to do what she thinks is
best for Edgewater. She stated she will work hard for the next
two years for the citizens.
councilperson Gillespie thanked everyone for their support and
patience with the Council over the past two years and she thanked
everyone who supported her in her campaign. She stated she hopes
they recognize they are going forward and they are all proud of
the city.
Councilman Hays stated they need to do some work on the polling
places and he hopes that is one of their priorities. He thanked
everyone who voted and supported him.
Mayor Wessler stated she thinks they are going to have one of the
best Council's Edgewater has ever seen. She gave her blessings
to the new Council. She wished them luck and told them to move
forward.
Councilman Kirk Jones stated working two years with this Council
has been a pleasure. He stated they have learned a great deal
and he is proud of this team. He thanked the voters for going to
the polls and waiting so long. He stated he appreciated the
Council's two years of experience.
Administerinq of oaths to incominq councilmembers
Mayor Wessler and Councilperson NoraJane Gillespie stepped down.
city Clerk Wadsworth administered the oath to the new Council of
the City of Edgewater.

Incominq council Comments
Mayor Hayman stated ex-Councilmember Danny Hatfield gave him a
pin to wear on his first night in office and he forgot it but he
told the audience what the pin says.
Councilman Mitchum thanked Edgewater for standing in long lines.
He stated he has been there before and it is going to be a tough
seat to fill. He gave credit to the previous Council for the job
they have done. He stated he is thrilled to work with the
Council we have. He stated they need to go straight ahead and
they can do that.
Mayor Hayman stated he is honored to be there. He stated Mayor
Wessler has done a commendable job. He stated Councilperson
Gillespie has represented our City and she has done a remarkable
job. He stated the task is to find out from the citizens what
they want our City to be. He stated it is the responsibility of
the new Council to finalize the work the previous Council
started.
Councilperson Martin commended Mayor Wessler for guiding them
through some rough roads. She stated it is unfortunate that she
did not win the District 2 County Council seat.
Councilman Hays thanked his wife and family for sticking with
him. He thanked his dad for all of his help and support.
Councilman Jones thanked Mayor Wessler for attempting to take on
a big challenge for the County Council District 2 seat. He
stated the future is upon us and they need to work diligently to
try to be innovative to come up with new ideas to bring in some
industry. He stated the City of Edgewater is ready to take on
those new innovative ideas.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, councilperson Martin
made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Jones. The
meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
