CALL TO ORDER
vice Mayor Roberts called the Special Meeting to order at 4:00
p.m. in the Community Center.

MEETING PURPOSE
The purpose of this meeting is for the interview of applicants
for the City Manager position.
Interim city Manager Hooper updated Council on what has happened
so far with Mr. Grace and Mr. Painter and what the Council can
expect for tomorrow.

Interim city Manager Hooper informed Council they would meet with
Mr. Tinberg tomorrow. The meeting will be reconvened tomorrow at
1 p.m. At the end of that session, he will be asking Council how
they feel about the process and if they want to make a decision,
they will have several options at that point.
Interim city Manager Hooper informed Council he has given them a
request for proposal to seek engineering services for the
gymnasium. He will bring back on January 5th, a budget that is
going to talk about the gymnasium. This is the RFP to get
professional help for laying out the site plan and the
architectural drawings.
Interim City Manager Hooper stated they will also be bringing to
Council on January 5th the final contract on the fire station.
vice Mayor Roberts questioned if they need to consider a motion
and vote on the proposals for parks and recreation today.
Interim City Manager Hooper stated no, he is just letting Council
know what is going on.
Councilwoman Lichter asked what the closing date is on the
letters of interest for the Attorney's position. Interim City
Manager Hooper stated January 5th. He briefly commented on the
hiring process for the City Attorney. He informed Council they
are still debating the subject of internal staffed position
versus a contract.
Mayor Allman arrived at this time.

Councilman Roberts spoke about a pilot program Edgewater Public
School wants to get involved in. It is an adopt a classroom
program for local businesses that want to contribute to the
schools. He further elaborated on this program.
Councilwoman Lichter spoke about residents of Edgewater Landing
working as volunteers at Indian River Elementary.
Interim city Manager Hooper asked Councilman Roberts if anything
needed to be placed on the January 5th agenda for expenditures.
There was a brief discussion regarding Edgewater Public School
asking to use the City's postage machine and reimburse the city.
Interim City Manager Hooper informed Council we have agreed to do
that.
Councilman Hammond spoke about talking to a few of the police
officers and the staff in the computer room and about CET and the
way they receive information. He spoke about having problems and
there possibly being a better, less expensive way. He asked that
this be checked into.
Interim City Manager Hooper spoke about work CET has done. Chief
Schumaker stated they will be meeting tomorrow morning at 9:00
regarding the lap top computers.
Interim City Manager Hooper went over the list of questions for
Mayor Allman due to not being present when he earlier discussed
it.
Interim City Manager Hooper introduced Kevin Grace.
At this time, Mr. Grace was interviewed and questions were asked
by Council.
Interim City Manager Hooper stated they would interview the next
applicant. He informed Mr. Grace there would be one more
interview tomorrow. When the interviews are done, they will call
the applicants and describe the process from there on.
There was a five-minute recess at this time.
The next applicant to be interviewed was Thomas Painter.
Interim City Manager Hooper informed Council of what was done
with Mr. Painter during the course of the day.
At this time, Mr. Painter was interviewed and questions were
asked by Council.
Interim city Manager Hooper informed Mr. Painter there would be
one more interview and that he would be contacted.
Council recessed at 5:15 to continue the meeting until the
interview for Mr. Tinberg the next day at 1:00 p.m.
