06-14-1993 - Special "-- ~ CITY COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 14, 1993 COMMUNITY CENTER Mayor Jack Hayman called the Special Meeting of the City Council to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Edgewater Community Center. This meeting is being called to consider Resolution 93-R-12. ROLL CALL Mayor Jack Hayman Councilman Kirk Jones Councilwoman Louise Martin Councilman Michael Hays Councilman David Mitchum City Attorney Krista Storey City Manager George McMahon City Clerk Susan Wadsworth Police Chief Lawrence Schumaker Present Excused Present Present Present Present Present Present Present Mayor Hayman gave the background on the Estuarine Research Reserve and the reason why this resolution was being brought before the Council. Councilman Hays questioned the funding. Mayor Hayman stated that some of the funding would be federal and some state. Mayor Hayman apologizes that he did not have the figures. Councilwoman Martin asked if the city would be obligating funds by passing this resolution. Mayor Hayman stated no, he stated that by approving this resolution we are supporting this region to be considered as one of the estuaries designation. Mayor Hayman read Resolution 93-R-12 supporting the Mosquito Lagoon as a National Estaurine Research Reserve.
