11-17-2006 EDGEWATER CRIME WATCH ASSOCIATION REGULAR MEETING NOVEMBER 17, 2006 EDGEWATER LANDINGS CLUBHOUSE MINUTES CALL TO ORDER: President Tim Ball called The Edgewater Crime Watch Association regular meeting to order on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 11:OOam at the Edgewater Landings Clubhouse. ROLL CALL: Members present were Tim Ball, President, Salvatore Scaramuzzino, 2 Vice President, Dave Soltz, Treasurer and Gary Conroy, Edgewater Police Department Crime Prevention Officer. Absent was Michelle Legrone, Secretary. Also present were Emilio Izzi and several of the C.A.P.'s volunteers. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: With the Secretary being absent no minutes were submitted for the prior meeting. NEW BUSINESS: Motion was made by Gary Conroy to purchase a lock to secure CAP equipment if the move to a new facility is not in a timely manner. Seconded by Dave Soltz, Motion carried unanimously Motion was made by Gary Conroy to form a nominating committee for new officers; Salvatore Scaramuzzino and Dave Soltz were nominated to the committee. both accepted. Motion, seconded by Salvatore Scaramuzzino. Motion carried unanimously OLD BUSINESS: A discussion was had reference the pasta dinner the Edgewater Landings Neighborhood Watch wants to put on sometime in the next few months. MISCELLANEOUS: -Gary Conroy discussed a meeting he had with Tax Prep Pros, whom in December 2005 did an overview of the record keeping of the Edgewater Crime Watch Association. Virginia Waterman, owner and operator of Tax Prep Pros told him she made recommendations such as checks paid to individuals should have an accompanying receipt. Many receipts were missing. During the discussion it was learned the report generated by Tax Prep Pros had not been brought before the board. It should be noted the report was addressed to President Tim Ball and Chuck Crampo, who recently resigned as 1s` Vice President. President Tim Ball could not give a reason as to why the report had not been brought to the board. Gary Conroy asked why had Chuck Crampo been paid $300 in March 2004. President Tim Ball said he could not recall. The discussion continued that an official audit might be in the course next taken by the board. Further discussion was tabled until next meeting. -Emilio Izzi, CAP volunteer, requested minutes of all past meetings. He said he had concerns about the money generated by CAP activities were not being fairly distributed. -Gary Conroy discussed the status of the board secretary. She had not produced any minutes that she had promised. Gary Conroy went on to say he had requested the minutes at the last meeting in October. He had called her to arrange to pick up the minutes. Legrone promised she would deliver minutes requested but they have not materialized as of this date. Salvatore Scaramuzzino added to the discussion he had attempted to contact her about today's meeting but she had not returned his calls. - President Tim Ball submitted his resignation. ADJOURNMENT: Gary Conroy made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Dave Soltz.
