CITY OF EDGEWATER
CONSTRUCTION REGULATION BOARD
REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 28, 1997
7:00 P.M.
CALL TO ORDER:
Chairman Bob Howard called to order the regular meeting of the
Construction Regulation Board on Tuesday, January 28, 1997, at 7:00
p.m. in the Community Development Conference Room.
ROLL CALL:
Members present were Chairman Bob Howard, Michael Bosse, Gary Madole,
Les Ogram (arrived at 7:05 p.m.), and Nancy Swiney. Woody Tindall
and Sid Corhern were recorded absent. Also present were Robert A.
Dunn, Building Official; Jill Landerville, Fire Department; and Tonya
Elliott, Board Coordinator.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
Chairman Howard asked for a motion to approve the minutes of May 28,
1996. Mr. Bosse so moved. Seconded by Mr. Madole. Motion CARRIED
3-0. Ms. Swiney did not vote since she was not at the May 28, 1996
meeting.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS:
Chairman Howard pointed out that there were some very qualified people
absent and asked that there names be read again. Absent were Les Ogram,
Woody Tindall and Sid Corhern. Chairman Howard opened the table for
nominations of chairman. Ms. Swiney nominated Les Ogram. There being
no other nominations, Mr. Bosse moved to close the nominations. Motion
CARRIED 3-0.
Chairman Howard turned the remaining agenda items over to the new
Chairman Les Ogram when he arrived. Chairman Ogram opened the table
for nominations of vice chairman. Mr. Howard nominated Sid Corhern.
Seconded by Mr. Bosse. There being no other nominations, Ms. Swiney
moved to close the nominations. Motion CARRIED 4-0.
Mr. Howard informed Chairman Ogram that Mayor Hayman has requested
the Board review a Report of the Construction Industry Study Committee
by the 3rd Monday in March. Mr. Howard said the regular meeting in
March has been tentatively set for March 11, 1997.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1) Update on Unified Code Committee:
Mr. Dunn said one item to be
addressed at the next Unified Code Committee (UCC) meeting was post
disaster recovery assistance, and gave a brief explanation how the
program would work. He also updated the Board members on other items
the UCC is working on. Ms. Swiney asked were the Unified Building
Code (UBC) stood and if it was operational. Mr. Dunn said the UBC
was very active county wide, and gave a brief update. Discussion
followed on county wide licensing.

NEW BUSINESS:
None at this time.
ADJOURN:
There being no other business to come before the Board, a motion to
adjourn was made and seconded. Meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m.
