03-28-2011 - Special Police Pension Board of Trustees Minutes - Special Meeting March 28, 2011 Page 1 of 2 CITY OF EDGEWATER POLICE OFFICERS’ PENSION BOARD OF TRUSTEES SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES Monday, March 28, 2011 CALL TO ORDER/ ROLL CALL/DETERMINATION OF A QUORUM The Edgewater Police Officers’ Pension Board held a special meeting on Monday, March 28, 2011 in the City Hall Conference Room at the City of Edgewater, Florida. Members Present : Gary Conroy Lawrence Leaf Vincent McCauley Members Absent : Ferd Heeb Dan Blazi Plan Administrator : Sheila Hutcheson (by telephone) City Staff: Donna Looney, Personnel Director Secretary Conroy called the meeting to order at 3:06 p.m. There was a quorum with three members present. Approval of minutes - Special Meeting - March 22, 2011 Ms. Hutcheson advised that City Manager Barlow had noted some language changes for consideration by the Board. Member Conroy asked if minutes were usually sent to anyone other than the Board for review. The Administrator said there are no specific rules and noted that the suggested language did accurately reflect statements at the meeting. Member Leaf made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 22, 2011 special meeting as annotated by the City Manager; Member McCauley seconded the motion. Members McCauley and Leaf voted yes; Member Conroy voted no. The motion failed as three affirmative votes are required to pass the motion. Member Leaf made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 22, 2011 special meeting as submitted by the Administrator; Member McCauley seconded the motion, which passed unanimously on a roll call vote. Plan Administrator Hutcheson asked Secretary Conroy to sign the minutes, submit them to the City Clerk, and let the City Clerk know that the Administrator would sign the minutes upon her next meeting. She also asked Personnel Director Donna Looney the date for submittal of the report by Attorney Dehner (authorized by the Board at its March 22, 2011 meeting) in response to the auditor’s report. Since the auditor’s report is expected to be submitted to City Council on April 18, Ms. Looney said the Attorney’s report would need to be received by the City Clerk no later than Friday, April 8, 2011.
