CALL TO ORDER
Vice Chairman Ben Wagner called the regular meeting of the Code Enforcement
Board to order at 2:00 PM in the Community Center.
ROLL CALL
Members present: Ben Wagner, Ed Corn, Glenn Barnhill, Gail Anderson, Alice
Haldeman and Sherry Lester. Also present were Capt. Jeff Lariscy, Code Officer
Mike McGrath and Board Coordinator Shontella Jackson.
Absent: Chairperson Linda Johnson notified the Board Coordinator that she
would not be at the November 10, 2011 meeting.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The Minutes for the regular meeting of October 13, 2011 were presented to the
Board for approval. MOTION by Ed Corn, SECOND by Alice Haldeman to

Code Supervisor Jeff Lariscy presented the case summary to the Board. Code
Supervisor Jeff Lariscy presented staff's recommendation to find Frederick J.
Gilmore in violation of Section 19 -11 of the Code of Ordinance accessing the
citation fine of $75.00 and that a lien is placed on the property. No one was
present for this case. MOTION by Gail Anderson, SECOND by Ed Corn that
the Board finds Frederick J. Gilmore in violation of Section 19 -11 of the
Land Development Code assessing the citation fine of $75.00 and that
a lien is placed on the property. MOTION CARRIED UNAMINOUSLY.
Case #2011 -CE- 104858, (Repeat) 3303 Umbrella Tree Dr., Edgewater Florida;
Thomas W. Baker, Violation of Section 10 -98 (Property maintenance).
Code Officer Mike McGrath presented the case summary to the Board. Code
Officer Mike McGrath presented staff's recommendation to find Thomas W. Baker
in repeat violation of Section 10 -98 of the Code of Ordinance assessing a citation
fine of $150.00 and an additional fine of $100.00 per day for each day the
violation exists past November 11, 2011 also for a lien to be placed on the
property if not satisfied by November 16, 2011. It is also recommended that the
Board issue a Board Order requesting the City Manager approved the cutting of
the grass if the violation is not corrected by November 11, 2011 and that a lien is
placed on the property. Officer McGrath states the property is occupied. No one
was present for this case. The Board had a brief discussion. MOTION by
Glenn Barnhill, SECOND by Gail Anderson that the Board finds Thomas
W. Baker in repeat violation of Section 10 -98 of the Code of Ordinance
assessing the citation fine of $150.00 and an additional fine of $100.00
per day for each day the violation exists past November 11, 2011 also
for a lien to be placed on the property if not satisfied by November 16,
2011. It is also recommended that the Board issue a Board Order
requesting the City Manager approved the cutti g of the grass if the

Code Officer Mike McGrath presented the case summary to the Board. Code
Officer Mike McGrath presented staff's recommendation to find Noah & Erin
Cabiac in violation of Section 10 -98 of the Code of Ordinance assessing a citation
fine of $75.00 and an additional fine of $50.00 per day for each day the violation
exists past November 11, 2011; also for a lien to be placed on the property if not
satisfied by November 16, 2011. It is also recommended that the Board issue a
Board Order requesting the City Manager approve the cutting of the grass if the
violation is not corrected by November 11, 2011 and that a lien is placed on the

staff's recommendation to find Beth A. Clausnitzer in violation of Section 10 -98 of
the Code of Ordinance assessing a citation fine of $75.00 and for an additional
fine of $50.00 each day the violation exists past November 11, 2011; also for a
lien to be placed on the property if not satisfied by November 16, 2011. It is
also recommended that the Board issue a Board Order requesting the City

Loan Mortgage in violation of Section 10 -83 of the Code of Ordinance assessing a
citation fine of $75.00 and an additional fine of $50.00 per day for each day the
violation exists past November 11, 2011 also for a lien to be placed on the
property if not satisfied by November 16, 2011. It is also recommended that the
Board issue a Board Order requesting the City Manager approve the securing of
the fence if the violation is not corrected by November 11, 2011 and that a lien is
placed on the property. Code Officer Mike McGrath states the certified mail was
accepted. No one was present for this case. MOTION by Gail Anderson,
SECOND by Glenn Barnhill that the Board finds Federal Home Loan
Mortgage in violation of Section 10 -83 of the Code of Ordinance
continuing the citation fine of $75.00 and an additional fine of $50.00

Code Officer Mike McGrath presented the case summary to the Board. Code
Officer Mike McGrath presented staff's recommendation to find Steven D.
Oliphant & Christopher B. Mills in violation of Section 10 -83 of the Code of
Ordinance continuing the citation fine of $75.00 and an additional fine of
$215.00 for the city to secure the shed and for a lien to be placed on the
property if not satisfied by November 16, 2011. No one was present for this

CODE COMPLIANCE REPORT:
Code Supervisor Jeff Lariscy gave a brief update on the case Toad for the month
of October which were 179 cases and 104 resolved. Code Supervisor Jeff Lariscy
had a meeting with the residents of Pelican Cove West and the subdivision is
elated with the idea of Code Enforcement doing a sweep thru the neighborhood.
