93-R-01 ..... ...., RESOLUTION NO. 93-R-Ol A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A CITY POLICY ON THE USE OF FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT'S TUG PROGRAM (TEMPORARY UNDERGROUND SERVICE); REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, has made the following determinations: 1. The City of Edgewater requires all contractors to obtain final inspections in accordance with the City Building Codes and certification of the City Building Official prior to the issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy. 2. The City withholds the release of full electrified power and issuance of the Certificate of Occupancy until sewer and water connections have been approved. 3. The City desires to work cooperatively with contractors and property owners to expedite construction completion while maintaining reasonable administrative control of the actual occupancy of any permitted construction. 4. Florida Power and Light has introduced a new policy and program referred to as "TUGS", Temporary Underground Service. The City can effectively use this program without compromising public health, safety and welfare concerns. 5. The City of Edgewater Building Official is responsible for the administration and enforcement of the Building Codes and issuance of certificates of occupancy. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edgewater: Section 1. The City Building Official may consider application of Florida Power and Light's "TUGS" Program in those situations where the temporary release of power has been requested by the contractor and all requirements of the City Building Codes and the "TUGS" Program have been met. The requirements of the "TUGS" Program are outlined in Exhibit A which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference. 93-R-Ol 1 Section 2. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon its adoption.
