RESOLUTION NO. 95-R-01
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THE
PROHIBITION OF VEHICLE PARKING ON BOTH SIDES
OF U. S. #1 FROM ORANGE AVENUE NORTH TO THE
CITY LIMITS; REPEALING RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the State of Florida Department of Transportation
will be resurfacing u. S. # 1 from Orange Avenue north to the
Edgewater city limits and will be restriping U. S. #1 according to
FDOT standards, and
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, in cooperation with the
Department of Transportation, finds that it is in the public
interest as a matter of traffic safety to prohibit public parking
on U. S. #1 in the area described above.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED by the City Council of the City
of Edgewater, Florida:
Section 1 .
The City Council requests the Department of
Transportation to restripe U. S. # 1 eliminating all on street
parking from Orange Avenue north to the city limits during the
resurfacing project. That Section of U. S. #1 is further described
as:
Volusia County, Section 79010, U. S. 1, State Road 5,
from M.P. 14.830 to M.P. 16.636 on both sides of the
roadway.
Section 2 .
All resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
After Motion by Councilman Hays and Second by Councilman
