A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION
OF A GRANT APPLICATION UNDER THE FLORIDA
INLAND NAVIGATION DISTRICT GRANTS TO LOCAL
GOVERNMENT PROGRAM; REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Edgewater, Florida, is interested in
carrying out the Riverwalk project, a 2.5 mile bike path/riverwalk
along the Intracoastal Waterway of Riverside Drive for the
enjoyment of the citizenry of Volusia County and the State of
Florida, at a total estimated cost of $214,080, and
WHEREAS, Florida Inland Navigation District financial
assistance is required for the project mentioned above.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council hereby authorizes the appropriate
City officials to submit an application for a grant under the
Florida Inland Navigation District Grants to Local Governments
Program and authorizes the project described above.
SECTION 2: That the project name for which the grant is
requested is River Walk.
SECTION 3: That the total cost of the project will be Two
hundred and fourteen thousand and eighty ($214,080.00) dollars.
SECTION 4: That the amount of funds requested is One hundred
and seven thousand and forty ($107,040.00) dollars.
SECTION 5: The City Council certifies to the following:
1. That it will accept the terms and conditions
set forth in the FIND Grants Guidelines and
which will be a part of the Project Agreement
for any grant awarded under the attached
proposal.
2. That it is in complete accord with the attached
proposal and that it will carry out the Program
in the manner described in the proposal and any
plans and specifications attached thereto
unless prior approval for any change has been
received from the District.
3. That it has the ability and intention to
finance its share of the cost of the project
and that the project will be operated and
maintained at the expense of said City of
Edgewater for public use.
4. That it will not discriminate against any
person on the basis of race, color or national
origin in the use of any property or facility
acquired or developed pursuant to this
proposal, and shall comply with the terms and
intent of the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act
of 1964, P.L. 88-352 (1964) and design and
construct all facilities to comply fully with
statutes relating to accessibility by
handicapped persons as well as other federal,
state and local laws, rules and requirements.
5. That it will maintain adequate financial
records on the proposed project to substantiate
claims for reimbursement.
6. That it will make available to FIND, a post -
audit of expenses incurred on the project prior
to, or in conjunction with, request for the
final 10% of the funding agreed to by FIND.
SECTION 6: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in
conflict herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.

SECTION 7: That this resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida, at a_R.,j.r meeting of said Council held on the
15 day of April ,199 11 and approved as provided by law.
