05-04-1926 - Regular py 7 ` Regular Meeting of the Town Council of Hdgewater, May 4 /26. Mayor A. R. Wilkinson present. President A. C. Ashoraft called meeting to order. Councilmen present: C. A. Ashoraft P. M. Carr S. R. Fee M. H. Haughton E. H. Lohman Minutes of previous meeting read by clerk.—After correction of—Motion by F. M. Carr seconded by M. B. Haughton, —that two drains be placed across Strand near Elwanger,---to real,— tiear Bigelow"— Minutes were approved as read. Motion—by H. H. Lohman seconded by :S. R. Feet —To consult civil engineer about putting drainage pipe thru at Highland Shores. —Carried Motion—by 3. H. Fee seconded by M. B. Haughton, —That the uestion of drainage west of Dixie Highway, north and south of Park ave. , be referred to street Committee, with power to act. —Paasei by unanimous vote. Motion—by H. H. Lohman seconded by F. M. Carr,-That Street Committee employ S. H. Fee to stake out street . line south from Palaway a con- tinuation of the resent recorded street and that Mr. Mathewson be asked to loan the map of the Hawks Park Land Company. --Passed by unanimous vote. Motion—by F. '.M. C rr seconded by H. H. Lohman,—That bill of Mr. At he y, dated 5/ •4J26 for labor—M.00 be approved of and ordered paid.—Unanimously carried. Motion—by S. R. Fee seconded by M. B. Haughton,—That F. H. Smith be refunded $10. 00 on ditch account and order be drawn on treasury for the amount; the same to be mailed by olerk. —Carried. Motion—by S. R. Fee seconded by P. M. Carr, —'ghat clerk be author- izes to purohase $2. 00 worth of stamps to be used in office. Carried. Motion—by H. H. Lohman seconded by S. R. Pee, —To receive and accept oheok of $10. 00 from C. F. Wimberly for cleaning firebrick thru his property. Carried. Motion—by M. B. Haughton seconded by S. R. Fee — That clerk take bond to E. A. Latham to change same from H. B., Asharaft to Paul D. Leddin. Carried. A unanimous vote of thanks was given H. R. Ashoraft retiring Se 'oy and Treas. for his service rendered the Council during his time in office and that the present incumbent be instructed to com- municate such to him in writing. Motion—by •S. R. Fee seconded by E. H. Lohman, —That, the Council having examined the accounts and vouchers of the retired Treasurer H. R.
