12-20-1927 - Regular I MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF TOWN COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER, FIDRIDA HELD DECEMBER 20TH 1927 ROLL CAi it Mayor Zipperer, Pre sent President Patch, Absent Mr. l ilkinson, Present Mr. Lohman, Present Mr. Spicer, Present Mr. Del.vitte , Prssent Mayor Zipperer presided over the meeting in the absence of President Patch. Minutes of regular meeting held December 6th approved as read. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS: The following bills were approved by the Finance Committee Mrs. Maybe lie Lohman, $2.00 P. H. Simpson, 15.00 M. L. Fuller 25.00 H. H. Sams 35.00 J. . . Zipperer 1.50 Upon motion by Mr. Wilkinson, seconded by Mr. Spicer, the bills were ordered paid. REPORTS: Mayor Zipperer reported that bridges over sidewalks had been installed as directed, and sidewalks over which br idges not installed were closed to traffic. Mr. Spicer suggested that as an investigation had been made regarding the construction of a jail, the Clerk handle with Volusia and Brevard County officials with a view of determining if it would be possible to obtain a portable cage, such as commonly used in construction work , at a low cost. It was suggested that if one could be obtained, a suitable building might be erected by the use of the cage , that would care for the requirements without prohibitive expense. Upon motion by Mr. Lohman, seconded by Mr. Dewitte, the Clerk was authorized to handle as outlined by Mr. Spicer. The committee consisting of Mayor Zipperer and Mr. Spicer, appointed to confer with New Smyrna Commission regarding electric lights, fire protection, and cleaning of canal, reported that the work had not been concluded ,as it was necessary fcr the city Manager of New Smyrna to prepare estimates, etc., for the guidance of the City Commiss ion. Upon motion by Mr. Spicer, seconded by Mr. iohra n, the Clerk was authorized to arrange with the New Smyrna Abstract Company for statement of transfers of real estate in the Torn , at the rate of ten cents per item.
