Upon motion by Mr. Lohman, seconded by
Mr. Smith the bills were ordered aid .
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
Fiscal report submitted lby Clerk for month
of February wasaccepted and made a part of proceedings by
motion of Mr. De Witte , seconded by Mr. Spicer.
REPORTS OF STANDING COI il2T1+TIS:
Mr . Spicer stated that
as chairman of the
Drainage Committee he
had not had sufficient time to look
over drainage canal from 'Park Avenue to the Gabardy Canal.
Mr . Smith volunteered to do this, Mr. Spicer being agreebble
to Mr. Smith looking the Canal over and estimating the
expenditure that should be made on the same.
RIII'ORTS OF SPECIAL COMMI"T"? IS:
Mr. Zipperer as chairman of the spec ial
committee on street lights spoke of the difficulty that
residents along P ark Avenue and west of
the railroad were
having in having electric service extended to that neighborhood ,
and said that a committee had calledon him and requested any
assistance the Town might be able to render in brirgng the
matter before the City of New Myrna . after discussion, it
was agreed that the Clerk would write to the Cit ' Maanager,
pointing out to him the conditions as discussed , and .suggest
that he go into the matter thoroughly , and endeavor if possible
to make the necessary extenskion of the electric facilities.
UNFINISMD BUSINESS:
Clerk reported that Mr. Jordan, Clerk of
Circuit Court, wished . information as to descriptio:o and
location of building for polling place , for establishment of
voting .recinct in r;dgewater. Upon motion by Mr. Spicer,
seconded by Mr. Lohman, clerk was instructed to give Mr.
Jordan the information requested, it being agreed to use
the VIA Hall for this purpose.

M . Zipperer stated that the City of NewSmyrna
had requested permission to cut two palmetto trees on
Ocean Avenue on right of way for high voltage current for
Street Lights, the two trees being ihldirect line with the
line. Upon motion by Mr. Spicer, seconded by Mr. DeWitte,
this permission was extended . It was brought out during the
discussion that the trees were in the sidewalk line, and in
street line, and were a part of seat a clump of several trees
and that their removal woual.d not detract from the appearance
of t street or of the property nearby.
Mr. Lohman: stated that permission had been
requested of the Council on the part of property holders
along Ocean Avenue to cleana certain tract belonging to
C ;lby & Jepson, at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Dixie
Highway, act of Leddins filling station. After discussion,
it was decided , on motion of Mr. Spicer, seconded by Mr .
Lohman , to authorized Clerk to handle this matter with the
property owners for permissionto proceed as outlined, with
a view of revioving a fire hazard . It was brought out that

the Council had no authority to grant this permission except
upon the authority of the owners of the property.

Mr. Lohman brought up the matter of repairs to
the Town Dock at the foot of Ocean Avenue. $100.00 was
appropriated for this work in the Budget, and after discussion
the matte : was referred to the Clerk Dior handling, it being
understood that the Clerk would _handle the matter with
interested parties, and agree on the part of the town to
•
furnish material to the extent of the budget allowance , if
the citizens of the town would furnish the labor. It was
thought that the matter might be placed under the direct
supervision of a citizens committeerii with the cooperation
of the Town.
Mr. Lohman again asked for discussion on the
matter of street repairs , particularly on Strand Boulevard.
Mr. Zipperer stat ed that a tractor could be secured from
Mr. Strickland , and that we alreadyhad scraper that could be
used . Marshal Simpson was instructed to confer with Mr.
Strickland regarding the use of the tractor, it being tought
that : 5.00 per day would be a fair price for the use of same,
Town to f ;.rnish driver and gael, and repairs while in use .
It was agreed that work should be started on repairing strets
and street intersections as quickly as possible.
Upon motion by fir. Spicer, seconded by Mr.
Lohman, the meeting was adjourned.
