07-27-1928 - Called Lox/ MINUTES OF CALLED MEETING OF TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF JDGEWATER,FLORIDA HEIPJULY 27TH 19S KOLL CALL: Mayor Zipperer, Present Pres.Patch, Present , Mr.Lohman, Present, Mr.Spicer, Present, Mr.DeIlitte , Absent ,, Mr.Smith, Present. Meeting called to order by Pres .Patch, Clerk instructed to read the call, which was for the purpose of paying bills. Minutes of previous regular meeting not read. UO .UNICATIONS: None BILLS AND ACCOUNTS: The following bills were read and after approval by finance committee were ordered paid: P .H.Simpson §10.00-- Ware rant No 412 W.Giddens 8.00 413 L.R,Ballanyyne 8.00 414 Harry Moore 65.00 415 P .H.Simpson , 7.36 416 W.Giddens 3.00 417 L.R.Ballantyne 3.89 418 James Owen 21.38 419 W.Giddens 3.38 420 Elbert McLane 90.00 421 Harry A.Moore 30 .00 422 B.A. :ogre 135.00 423 H.A.Moore 8.00 424 P .H .Simpson .85% 425 Hibbard Hdwe Co 2.00 426 APPROPRIATIONS: Motion by Spicer seconded by Smith, to increase the amount appropriated for Street Fund, by the amount of : 500.00 motion carried. r.aimpson at this juncture of the proceedings , requested the council to investigate his handling of town affairs entrusted to him to ascertain if any discrepancies existed.He stated that he had been accused of padding the payroll.Pres.Patch asked who had made the complaint. Mr.Lohman,asked that he be permitted to withdraw the complaint, stating that the use of the expression "padding" had not been intentional. He further stated that he did not intend to charge Mr.Simpson with padding the payroll, but that his complaint was upon the manner of handling street labor. Mr.E .P .Fuller, asked permission to object to the further appropriation of moneys for Streets , stating in his opinion that the money so spent did not justify it. Pres.Patch assured Mr.Fuller that they money spent on streets would be spent to the best advantage of the Town. Z,otion by Mr.Spicer, seconded by Mr.Smith, to adjourn. motion carried and Pres.Patch declared the meeting adjourned. R.C.Fuller, Deputy Clerk. 282
