RESOLUTION NO. 97-R-29
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EDGEW A TER, FLORIDA, REGARDING THE VETERANS
PARK ADVISORY COMMITTEE; AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 91-R-65 TO MODIFY THE
MEMBERSHIP AND TERMS; REPEALING RESOLUTIONS
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH AND ESTABLISHING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, on December 2, 1991, the City Council of the City of Edgewater, Florida,
adopted Resolution No. 91-R-65 creating the Veterans Park Advisory Committee for the purpose
of advising Council regarding veterans activities at Veterans Park.
1. During the November 3, 1997 City Council meeting Council tabled the appointments
for the Veterans Park Advisory Committee due to the need for additional review of applicants.
2. A representative from the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 145 has been a
member of the Advisory Committee in the past.
3. Due to dissolution of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 145, Council needs
to delegate a replacement for the Committee.
4. As a result of and in acknowledgment of the goals and objectives of the Veterans Park
Advisory Committee, Council has determined that it would be in the best interests of the citizens of
Edgewater to consider certain revisions to City policies effecting the Advisory Committee.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Edgewater,
Florida:
Section 1.
Resolution No. 91-R-65 is hereby amended as set forth in Sections 2 and 3.
Section 2.
Membership. The Veterans Park Advisory Committee shall be composed of
five members appointed by the City Council. A member of the City Council shall serve on the
Committee as well as the Director of Parks and Recreation. The remaining three members shall be
a representative of American Legion Post 285, a representative of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post
4432 with the frfth member being a member at large.
Section 3.
Terms. The Director of Parks and Recreation shall be a permanent member
of the Committee. The member of the City Council serving on the Committee shall serve a term of
one (1) year and may be reappointed for additional one (1) year terms at the discretion of the City

Council. Terms of the additional three members shall be for a three (3) year period. Any member
may be appointed for additional terns at the discretion of the City Council.
Section 3. All resolutions or parts of resohtions in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect upon adoption.
