MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL,
TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, HELD
TUESDAY APRIL 16 1929.
Meeting called to order at 7:30 P .M. by Pres.Patch.

Minutes of regular meeting held April 2nd,1929
were read , and after correction reading,( Quote) "Mayor Lem-
beck also stressed the fact that there was no consideration
being given by City Officials to the talked of Annexation
of Edgewater, by New Smyrna"( end quote) were approved.
Minutes of called meeting held April 8th 1929,
were approved as read.
BALLS AND COMITJNICATIONS:
The following bills were read:
City of New Smyrna, $ 5.40
Skipper Sporting Goods 1.00
. New Smyrna News Co. , 6.40
H.A.Moore 29.90
Motion by Ald.Marz seconded by Ald. Good-
year, bills were ordered paid as read. Motion carried.
Letter from Mr.W.A.Robinson, relative ins-
talling grade crossing over railroad west of Park Ave , read
and upon motion by Ald. Marz seconded by Ald. Goodyear, was
referred to street committee for =Jam investigation and
report.
Ald.Goodyear for the Ordinance 'ommittee
reported that he had consulted with various att rneys re-
lative revising the Town Ordinances, and that Attorney John
S.Duss Jr. , has made the best offer in th.>regard, said offer
being to revise and codify the present Ordinances of Thu
Town of Edgewater, and drawing up any new Ordinances that
were needed to bring the effective Ordinances up the the needs
of The Town. This work to cost not over $150.00.
Motion by Goodyear secpnded by Ald. Marz:
"To authorize Attorney Duss to prepare a bill to the Legis-
lature for the purpose of legalizing the Acts of The Town
Council,Town of Edgewater,of its official acts ,for the years
1925,1926, and 1927 and 1928: Motion carried
Letter from Mrs.Dora Christensen, relative
complaint that Town had damaged her property on Strand by
removal of Oyster Shells. Motion by A1d.Marz seconded by
Ald. Goodyear, that the letter be referrre& to Street Comm-
ittee. Motion carried.
Alderman Goodyear, then introduced the foll-
owing resolution:

R E S O L U T I O N
A RESOLUT ION ELIPLOYING LEGAL COUNSEL FOR
THE PURPOSE OF REVISING THE ORDINANCES OF
THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER; FOR THE PURPOSE OF
PROVIDING COMPENSATION THERE OR.
WHEREAS, it is the sense of the Town
Council of the Tom of Edgewater, Florida, that
the laws aid ordinances of the aforesaid Town of
Edgewater are inadequate for the ?proper govern-
ment of the town, AND
•
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the Town
Council that the laws and ordinances of the town
of Edgewater, Florida, should be revised at this
time, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
TIE TOWN OF E. GEWATER, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Tha+ A �/

hereby employed as legal counsel of Ahe Town of
Edgewater, Florida, for the special purpose of
e::amining the laws and ordinances of the said town,

as hereinafter set forth ; compensation for such

Section 2. That it shall be the uty of
the special legal counsel herein employed to e::amine
fully and completely the several laws and ordinances
of the said Town of Edgewater, and prepare and submit
to the Tovn Council of the said towh not later than

days from the date of the passage and
approval of this �-� , such revised and such new
laws and ordinances as the special legal counsel may
deem necessary for the proper government of the said
town, subject to the an roval of the committee of the

Section 3. That this resolution shall
take effect immediately upon its passage and approval
as provided by law.
Section 4. That this resolution shall
have the effect of rescinding and repealing any and
all resolutions to the contrary heretofore adopted by
