06-04-1929 - Regular A MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF TIE TOWN COUNCIL, TOW:' OF EDGEWAT'M, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY JUNE 4, A. D. 1929. Meeting called to order at 7:30 P. M. by Mayor Lembeck. Roll call: Mayor Lembeck, present, President Patch, absent, Alderman Goodyear, absent, Alderman. Moore, present, Alderman Marz, present, Alderman Renwick, present. Motion by Alderman Renwick, seconded by Alderman Marz, that Alderman Moore be elected President of Council pro ter-, motion carried. Minutes of regular meeting held May 21, A. D. 1929, were read and after correction approved. Motion by Alderman Harz, seconded by Alderman Renwick that the minutes of May 21, A. D. 1929, be approved after correction, to read, "Victor Newell was present and asked Council about moving tree on side walk in fvont of his home on Highland Avenue: The following bills were read by the Clerk: City of New Smyrna $ 2.00 New Smyrna News Company 129.00 New Smyrna News Company 6.50 R. C. Fuller 50.00 Paul D. Leddin 10.00 P. H. Simpson 15.00 J. J. Lofton 6.75 J. J. Lofton 1.20 Motion by Alderman Marz, seconded by Alderman Renwick that bills be paid as read, motion carried. Sanitation: Council ap -ointed Messrs. Renwick and Moore as Special Committee to investigate complaints of unsanitary conditions in the Town, with instructions that if they found any situation they were un- able to handle to call the services of the Town Health Officer and Marshal to use force if necessary. Reports of Officers: Clerk reported that he had personally looked up the record of Dick's Sub at DeLand and that in the Platt of said Stab Percival B. Dick and wife had both signed, to the use of the Town of Edgewater, forever, a Street known as Dixwood Avenue. This Platt is recorded in Map Book eight (8) page (273) of the records of Tolusia County, Florida. Motion by Alderman Marz seconded by Alderman Renwick that the Street Committee be authorized to open Dixwood Avenue from the Dixie Highway to the Strand Boulevard, for the use of the public.
