Edgewater Flo Jan 20, 1930.
The To Council of Edgewater,
Edgewater Flo.
Gentlemen:
With authority invested in me by The Council , I have contracted
with Tom Brooker, for the cleaning of Highway lots between Palmetto Park
and The Cemetery at a cost of $3.00 per lot, lot run, excepting lot or
lots owned by Mr. Lohman across Highway froc: Mr. Woods. These lots are
heavily wooded and was unable to get these lots included in the contract.
Mr. Brooker stated he would agree to clean these lots, which I bele are
three in number at $4.00 per lot. 40.41,4-14s
It was agreed that the cleaning of lots would mean. Cutting and
burning of trash but not cut any saplings or palmettos. piling of palmetto
logs now on the ground and the removing of what fallen other logs were on
the lots, for wood, unless there was an objection raised by the owners of
such lots.
In connections with bids on the cleaning of lots. I received three
bide. One for four dollars per lot end two for three dollars per lots or a
rate of two dollars per day and another of two dollars and twenty five cents
per day. Feeling that day labor would be unfair f or both the city and the
laborers, I considered the bids per lot in preference to the hiring of men
by the day.
Roughly estimating, there are about 50 or 52 lots included in the
contract, but this figure may run a few more or less.
Another exception, is a lot just south of Joe Mason's property
which is a heavy growth of pine saplings and this lot also was not included
in the contract.
This Gentlemen, id for your information and what further handling
you deem necessary.
Yours respectfully,
Yi L
Mayor Town of Edgewater Flo.
