04-01-1930 - Regular I ter' MINUTES OF REGULAR SETTING, TOWN COUNCIL, TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, HELD TUESDAY, APRIL FIRST A.D. 1930. MEETING called to order at 7;30 by President Marx. ROLL CALL: President Marz, Present. Alderman, W.T .Goodyear, Present , Alderman, H.A.Moore , A,,sent. Alderman, Paul Van Arman, Present. Alderman, H.P . -iikinson, Present. Other officers present: Mayor F.R.Renwick, and Marshall A.J.Cannon. MINUTES of regular meeting held Tuesday March 18th 1930 , were read and approved on Motion by Ald .Van Arman, secpnded by Ald.H .P .Wilkinson. COMMUNICATIONS: Mr.B .Anderson, was present, and verbally asked Council to have his fence replaced, the fence in question having been mpved by the Town when repairing Street on Old County Road North of Park Avenue. Council told Mr.Anderson to have the fence put back up and make a bill to council for the cost, that inasmuch as the Town had torn it down, they would pay for the cost of putting it back up on a newvline. Messrs J.O .Boyd,J.W .weathers and , r.B .Anderson, asked Council to decide what would be done towards opening the Street along Old County Road North of Park Avenue , along the property of Messrs Boyd , Weathers , Anderson and others, and providing for adequate drainage from the properties affected, it appearing that water would not under present conditions drain properly from the street and pro- perties adjacent thereto. Considerable discussion was had relative to the opening of the Street, it appearing that several surveys had been made, one by the Town in former years but that no definate acation had ever been taken. Ald.Van Arman, made Motion that the Town Employ, Capt A.S .Robinson, to survey the Old County Road, north from Park Avenue to Oak Ridge Avenue in High- land shores , along center of land lines , for the purpose of establishing a fifty foot road , or Street, serving a usfail purpose; ofiopening the back portions of the lands lying between the railroad right of way, and Ridgewood Avenue. Motion seconded by Ald. H.P. Wilkinson , and unanimously carried. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS: Clerk read the following bills: J.J.Lofton, 410.00 Warrant No 718. Motion unanimously carried. CLERK read affidavits from b.m.Laws Jr. , E .M.Little , and W.C. 00d, in effect that on the 5th day of May 1927,Mr. ' W.C.Wood, ( Bondsman for Wm.Laws'Jr. ,) and E.M.Little , accompanied Mr.Laws before Mayor H.E.Zipperer, to stand trial for charge of Reckless Driving, on a complaint and warrant duly issued by the Town, thru its officer H.E. Zipperer Mayor, and that said H .E .Zipperer, did try and dismiss the case against said Wm.-1.2aws Jr. , and that fur- ther the Bond of $10.00 paid by W.C.Wood, for the appearare of the said Wm.Laws Jr. , before the municipal Court of the Town of Edgewater, had not been returned to Mr.Wood, notwithstanding Mr.Laws had appeard for trial as commanded. (Said affidavits attached to these minutes) Motion by Aid, haul Vas!Arman seconded by AltLAIP,Pyailkinai t� the affidavits be.:°received and made a part of these minutes. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Ald.c?.P.�'+ilkinson , seconded by Ald.Paul Van Armen that Clerk be authorized to draw Warrant for $10.00 in favor of W.C .Wood , to reimburse said W.C.Wood for bond, which had been improperly entreated on May 5th 1927. Motion unanimously carried. NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Renwick asked that record of his attendence at Council Meetings held Feb 18th, March 4th, March 18th, be recorded in the minutes , inasmuch as it has been a custom since the incorpoartion of the Town for the Mayors' presence at Council meeting be recorded in the minutes . Council inst- ructed Clerk to make the correction or addition of this information for the meetings held which did not show Mayorx Renwicks presence. ADJOURNMENT: Motion by Ald . Van Arman seconded by Ald.Goodyear, to adjgurn. Motion carried.
