Meeting called. to order at 730 p.m. by Pres.Marz.

MINUTES of regular meeting held Tuesday August l9 t h
A.D. 1930 , were , upon motion by Ald.W.T .Goodyear,
seconded by Ald.H.P .Wilkinson , approved as read.
COMMUNICATIONS : Letter from A.J.Cannon , t o Phil Marz
gaged at Lake City Florida, August 25th A.D. 1930 , was
read to council by clerk.
MOTION by Ald. .T .Goodyear,seconded by Ald.H.P .Wilkinsn
that letter from A.J.Cannon to Phil Marz , dated Lake City
Fla. , August 25th 1930 , in which he requested pay for
time alleged due himethe Town, be received and made a
part of these minutes , together with the Clerks reply
to same. Motion carried
NOTION by kld.j'aul Van Arran, seconded by 41d.H.A.Moore
that A.J.Cannon be paid nine days pay covering the time
made by him as Marshall of the Town of Edgewater,from
July 1st to 9th ,k.D.1930 , both inclusive ,and that the
Clerk write. the said A.J.Cannon and explain the Councils
position as regards the time claimed in November A.D.1929
and balance of month of July A.D. 1930 ,that is from the
9th to 31st bot inclusive. Motion carried.
Discussion developed that Marshall Cannon agreed to
accept the sum of $7.50 , in full payment of his services
for the month of November A.D. 1929 , and that said amount
had been Maid to Cannon as shown on the minutes of the
Town Council. Further that Cannon had left Edgewater,
without notice to the Council, or .ayor, on July 9th A.D .
1930 and had not since been in the Town, nor performed
the duties of the Town Marshall, since July 9thA.D .1930.

SEPT 2 A.D. 1930
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
CLERK read Clerk and Treasurer' s report for month of
August A.D. 1930. Motion by Ald.P.Van Arian seconded
by Ald.H.a..Moore , that the reports be received and
made a .part - of these minutes. Motion carried.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES :
4 yards of Chairman Moore of Street Committee reported
that/shell had been Placed on Yelkca Terrace , and 10 yards
of shell placed on Lamont Street. He reported that culverts
on Lamont Street reeded replacing.
Motion by Ald.Paul Van Arman, seconded by Ald. .T .Goodyear
that Street Committee be authorized to replace the culverts
on Lamont St. Motion carried
General discussion relative drainage conditions was had.Ald.
T.T.Goodyear made motion, seconded by Ald.Paul van Arman,that
the Drainage Committee be authorized to clean the c1.rainage
ditch from the South Canal, as far South as possible. Motion
carried.
Mayor Renwick stated he had sent a sample of water from the Flow
Well at foot of Park Ave. , to State board of Health for ex-
amination.
Ald.Van Arian, made motion that Street Committee be authroized
to make the necessary repairs to the Town Dock. Seconded by
Ald.W.T.Goodyear and carried.
NEW BUSINESS:
The need for a new dock was discussed, and Ald.
W .T .Goodyear was authorized to make an investigation as to
the feasibility of securing the island opposite the V.I .A.
Hall and west of the Main Channel in the river, for possible
development into a public dock by the Town.
Motion by Ald.Paul Van Arman seconded by Ald.H.P .
Wilkinson to authorize Ald. W.T .Goodyear to investigate the
feasibility of the Town securing £htem the Government the island
opposite he V.I .A. Hall and West of the Channell. Motion carried.
Motion by Aid. W .T .Goodyear seconded by Ald.Paul
Van Arman, to adjourn. Motion carried.

Dear sir:
Your letter August 25th 1930, to Mr.Ehil gars,
was referred to the To Council and they have instructd
that 1 write you according to he action taken by them.
As regard the November 1929 pay you claim, you
entered into a verbal agreement with .Cr.Lofton, in the
presence of the Town Council that you would accept half
months pay for goveaber, since you did not toice office
until Novetter 8th. Thiu vas paid you and we hold the
oanoelled check covering it amounting to . 7.50.
As to the July 1930 pay which you claim, 1 am
enolosing the Towns Check No 316, Warrant If°. 793, for
44.50 which represents all of the time you were an duty
in the Town in July, that is fro the first to 9th, at
which Plias you left without notice, and another wan wau
necessarily engaged to give the 2ovn 9olioo protection.
