by Ald.Paul Van Arman, approved as read.

THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, FLORI )A,
ON THE 4th DAY OF NOVEMBER, A.D.
1930, AND PROVIDING FOR THE ISSU-
ANCE OF CERTIFICATES OF ELECTION
TO THE RESPECTIVE TNN OFFICERS
ELECTED AT SAID ELECTION.
WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edge-
water, Florida, met in regular session in the
ti Town of Edgewater, Florida, on the 1/-tt day
of November, A.D. 1930, and canvassed the re-
turns of the Annual Town Election held in said
Town on the 4th day of November, A.D. 1930, now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That from the canvass of the returns
it is hereby declared that the result of said

Section 2: That the Town Council does hereby
declare that W. T. Goodyear received the high-
est number of votes for the office of i,layor of
said Town, and. he is hereby declared to be the
regularly elected Mayor of said Town for the
term of one (1) year from his election and qual-
ification.
That the Town Council does hereby declare that
A. B. Wilkinson received the highest number of
votes for the office of Town Treasurer of said
Town, and he is hereby declared to be the reg-
ularly elected Town Treasurer for the term of
one (1) year from his election and qualification.

R. C. Fuller received the highest number of
votes for the office of Town Clerk of said
Town, and he is hereby declared to be the reg-
ularly elected Town Clerk of said Town for the
term of one (1) year from his election and qual-
ification.
That the Town Council does hereby declare that
C. T. King received the highest number of vot-
es for the office of Town Marshal of said Town,
and he is hereby declared to be the regularly
elected Town 141arshal of said Town for the term
of one (1) year from his election and. qualifica-
tion.
That the Town Council does hereby declare that
Ralph Adams, H. A. Moore and F. R. Renwick re-
ceived the highest number of votes for the of-
fice of Town Councilman, to serve for the term

of two (2) years and they are hereby declared
to be regularly elected members of the Town
Council of said Town to hold their respective
offices for the t er_n of two (2) years from
their election ana qualification.
Section 3: That the Town Clerk be, and he is
hereby directed within one short day from the
date hereof to furnish one certificate of el-
ection to each of the persons hereinabove de-
clared elected.
Section 4: That the Town Clerk of said Town
of Edgewater, Florida, be, and he is hereby
directed to spread this resolution upon the min-
d utes of this meeting.
Passed by unanimous vote of the Town Council
of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, on the f

Dresident Marz asked officers-Elect to come forward
and be sworn in. Justice of the Peace , E.A.Latham,
then administered the oath of offica to the following
Officers-Elect:
W.T .Goodyear, Mayor-Elect
Ralph Adams, Alderman-Elect,
H.A.Moore, Alderman-Elect,
F.R.Renwick, Alderman-Elect,
R.C.Fuller, Clerk-Elect,
A.B .Wilkinson, Treasurer-Elect ,
C.T.King, Marshall-Elect.
Vmmediately after receiving the oaths of Office ,Mayor
W.T.Goodyear, Aldermen Ra1phAdams0. .A.Moore , and
F.R.Renwick, Clerk R .C.Fuller, Treasurer A.B, ilkinson,
and Marshall C.T .King, occupied the various offices to
which they had been elected at the Annual Election held
November 4th A.D. 1930.
Ur.Marz, upon vacating the Chair, stated that he had
enjoyed serving with the Council during his term of
office, and that he would take as much Civic Pride in
the affairs of the Town as when in office: He particul-
arly requested the New Council to take up the matter of
opening the Old County Road: to secure the Deposits of
the Town in the Bank, the latter a matter that should
have been attended to as a matter of public protection.
Mr.Marz further stated that he would be glad to lend any
assistance towards the opening of the Old County Road , and
generally expressed his good wishes to the new council
in its endeavors to best serve the people of the Town.
Mayor V4 .T .Goodyear expressed regret at having Mr.Marz
retire from the Council.
Former Mayor E.A.Lembeck, asked for priviblige of exp-
ressing to the Council and Mayor, his appreciation and
that he felt that he expressed the sentiment of the en-
tire Town, for the faithful and concientiogs efforts of
the retiring officers, and to tell the incmaamng Officers
that their efforts towards economical and progressive
Town Government , would have the Peoples' endorsement and
co-operation.
Appreciation of Mr.Lembeckb' talk were unanimously ack-
nowledged by both the old and new Town Officers.
Ald.renwick offered the following Resolution: (Seet page 9 these minutes)
Motion by Ald.Renwiek— Seconded by Ald.H.P .Wilk1Yisczn
that Mayor W.T.GoodySar act as Chairman of the Council
pending the regular election of a President of Council.
Motion unanimously carried, and Mayor Goodyear called
for nominations for president of Council.
Ald."enwick nominated Ald.Paul Van Arman for President
of Council, motion being seconded by Ald.H.P.Wilkinson ,
who moved that Nominatithns be closed. Motion carried
and Ald. Renwick offered the following `resolution:

A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE TOWN
COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER,
FLORIDA, DULY AND LEGALLY CONSTI-
TUTED AND ORGANIZED UNDER THE PRO-
VISIONS OF LAW APPLICABLE THERETO.
WHEREAS, in accordance with the laws of the State
of Florida and the ordinances of the Town of Edge-
water, three (3) aldermen or Town Councilmen were
duly and legally elected, as provided by law, to
the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida,
at the Annual Election held in said Town on Novem-
ber 4th, A.D. 1930, and
WHEREAS, said elected Aldermen or Councilmen have
duly taken and subscribed to their oaths of office
and have filed such oaths in the office of the Town
Clerk of said Town and have performed all other
prerequisites of the holding of their respective of-
fices as aforesaid; and
WHEREAS, the said Town Council and the several re-

spective members thereof have performed all of
their duties necessary to the legal creation of
said Town Council, now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the Town Council of said Town,
consisting of five (5) members, be, and it is '
} hereby declared to be legally and regularly con-

stituted and organized as such, to function and
perform its duties under and by virtue of the
provisions of the laws of the State of Florida
and the ordinances of said. Town pertaining there-
to, for and during the term provided for thereby.
Section 2. That the Town Council so constituted
and organized be, and it is hereby declared to

A RESOLUTION
A Resolution Electing a President of the Town
Council, of the Town of Edgewater, Effective
Tuesday November 18th A.D. 1930.

VHEREAS : , the Tovin Council of the Town of Edgewater,
Florida, was , on the 18th Day of November,
A.D. 1930, duly and legally installed and
by proper motion and Resolution Declared
Legally Constituted , and . ,
WHEREAS : It now becomes the Duty of said Town Council,
to select from its members , a Chairman or
President of the Council,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF
THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, .FLORIDA,
Section 1 . That AkdermayixQ ., who is a legal
member of the. Town Council, of the Town of
Edgewater,Florida, be, and he is hereby
nominated, to be, President of the Town Council,
for the Town of Edgewater, Florida , and

President Van Arman next called for nominations for
members of Committees as follows: Street Committee ( 2)
Finance and auditing (2) Drainage ( 2) Ordinances ( 2)
A1kdd.F.R.Renwick nominated ,Ald H.A.Moore and Ald.H.P .
Wilkinson as Chairman and member of Street Committee,
Nomination seconded by Ald.Ralph Adams , who moved that
Nomination be closed. Motion carried.
Ald. F.R.Renwick nominated Ald.H.P .Wilkinson and Ald.
H.A.Moore for Chairman and member of Drainage Committee
nomination being seconded by Ald.Ralph Adams , who moved
that nomination be closed. Motion carried.
Ald. H.P .Wilkinson nominated A1d.F.R.Renwick and Ald.
Ralph Adams as Chairman and Member of Ordinance Comm-
ittee, nomination seconded by Ay Ald.H .A.Moore , who
moved that nominations be closed. Motion carried.
Ald.H.A.Moore nominated Ald.Ralph Adams and A1d.F.R.
Renwick, for Chairman and Member of Auditing & Finance
Committee, nomination being seconded by Ald.H.P.Wilk-
inson who moved that nominations be closed. Motion cars

AId.F.R.nenwick moved that order of business revert ti
Communications and follow in regular order thereafter,
motion seconded by Ald.H.P .Wilkinson and unanimously
carried.
COMMUNICATIONS:
Clerk read letter from Mr.A.L.Lamont,
complaining that some person was dumping refuse and
old junk on the side of road on Lamont Street near
the strand, causing an unsightly appearance.
Motion by Ald.F.R.Renwick seconded by
Ald.H.A.Moore , that the letter be tabled and taken up
in the regular order of business. Motion carried.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
Motion by Ald.F.R.Renwick seconded
by Ald.H.P .Wiikinson, that Street Committee be authorised
to make necessary repairs along Cabardy Canal in front
of residence of Mr.0eo. Reed , to present further washing
of street and if the Committee is unable to determine how
repairs are to be made. that they are further authorized
by this motion, to consult an engineer or employ an eng-
ineer to assist them. Motion unanimously carried.
Motion by A1d.F.R."enwick,seconded by
Ald.Ralph Adams, that Clerk be instructed to write lir.
Small, Division highway Engineer at Ocala.Fla. , and send
a copy if the letter to Maintainer Castleberry at Oak Hill,
calling attention to dangerous condition of bridge over
Banal , caused by heavy rains washing the embankment.
Motion Unanimously carried.
Motion by Ald.H.A.Moore seconded by
Ald.Ralph Adams, that Clerk write Mrs.Ruth Bryan Owen at
16ashington; with a copy to her secretary, Ar.Walter S.
Buckingham, at Vero 'each, and ask what steps are necessa'
to secure the dirt from the dredging of the Canal in the
North Indian River, pumped into the low places along west
bank of river, thru the limits of the Town of Edgewater.
Motion unanimously carried.

Clerk read letter from Mr.P .B .Dick to
R.C.Fuller, Clerk, requesting certain changes in the des-
cription of his property, Dixwood Sub. Motion by Ald.F.R.
"enwick that Clerk write Mr.Dick, that the description of
his property insofar as the Town of Edgewater was conceradd,
would remain as now shown on Tax Assessment Roll for the
Year 1930. Motion seconded by A1d.Ralph Adams and carried.

A resolution naming a Depository for the Town
of Edgewater,Florida, and providing for the
payments of funds from said Depository, and
providing for the consolidation of the Bank
accounts of the own of Edgervate r,Fl on da,
formerly in the State lank & Trust Co and the
Fidelity Bank of New Smyrna, Fla.
IHMmTiam It becomes the Duty of the Town Council
of the Town of Edgewater, Florida to name a
Depository, for the safe keeping of the funds and
securities of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and
WHEREAS; There is now on Deposit in the: State Bank

Section 1. ' That the Fidelity Bank and of New 34yrna,
Florida be, and is hereby declared to be the Official
Depositpry for the Town of Edgewater, Florida, and
that the Town Treasurer and the Town Clerk of the Town
of Edgewater, are hereby directed to deposit all monde
and such other valuable securities as may come into M
thier custody, the property of the Tpwn of I'dgewater ,
subject to such direction and discretion of the Town
Cou c, l 'then may fro time to time see fit to use,
creation 2. That the said Fidelity Bank of New Smyrna
is hereby authorized to consolidate into one account
in the Fidelity wank of New Smyrna, both the account
farrrerly carried in the State Bank and Trust Co of New
Smyrna and the Fidelity Bank of New Smyrna, together
with such balances of deposits and accrued interest as
may be with such accounts, and
Section 3. And be it further resolved, that the said
Fidelity Bank is hereby notified and instructed, to
pay checks or orders drawn on the above named account,
only when properly signed by A.B.Wilkinson, Treasurer
for the Town of dgewater, Florida, or such other
person as the Town Council may designate in writing a44

from the account named herein, and only after proper

Section 4. Providing further, that all Resolutions,
contrary to and in conflict with this Resolution
or any part thereof, are hereby rescinded, cancelled
and made of no effect.
Section 5. Providing further that this Resolution
shall take effect immediately upon its passage by

The above Resolution was introduced by Ald F•R.Renwick
