02-17-1932 - Regular MINUTES OF THE TONW COUNCIL, TOWN OF EDGEWATER,FLURIDA, REGULAR MEETING HEIR WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 17TH, A.D. 1932, in the V.I .A. Hall, at Edgewater. Meeting called to order at 7:30 O' Clcock P.M. by Mayor F.R.Renwick, with the following officers present: Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick Councilman J.J.Francis Councilman HWP.Wilkinson Clerk R.C.Fuller MINUTES of reg llar meeting held Wednesday,February 3rd A.D. 1932, were read and approved, on motion by Councilman H.P .Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman J.J.Francis. Motion carried. BI TATS AND ACCOUNTS: Clerk read the following bills: Tom Brooker, $ 6.00 ilarrant lvo. 1061 C T King 16.20 1062 R C Fuller 5.00 106 R C Fuller 2.00 1064 Motion by Councilman J J Francis , seconded by Councilman H.P .Wilkinson, that the above named bills be ordered paid as read. Motion Carried. REPORTS OF OFFICERS : Clerk read Budget Statement for month of January 1932. Motion by Councilman H.F. Wilkinson seconded by Councilman J.J.Francis, that the report be received and made a part of these minutes motion unanimously carried. Report of the Marshall covering Street work done, for the period Feb 1st to 14th,1932 was read, and ordered filed. NEW BUSINESS: Mayor Renwick, stated he had requested Fire Chief Henshaw of the New Smyrna Fire Dept. , to give us information concerning small fire fighting equipment. Mr.Henshaw was present ald explained to the Council the need for some kind of equipment that would enable the Edgewater Volunteers to handle or control a fire until assistance from New Smyrna Department could be secured, discussing at length the various kinds of equipment that could be had. Motion Unanimously carried, the vote of the Town Council being as follows: Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick, Yes, Councilman J.J.Francis , Yes,Council- man H.P.Wilkinson, Yes. Mayor Renwick stated arrangements would be made to secure the equipment and Chief Henshaw agreed to come out when it was ready and show the Council and such Volunteers as wanted to, how to operate the machine. Ma.yor Renwick asked Council relative the shelling of certain streets, and after discussion Council agreed that a small amount of shelling should be done at the present time, it appearing that some streets were getting in bad condition. Mayor Renwick stated that Mr, Pollitz had offered to rent the Town his truck for $4.00 per day, furnishtdg all gas and oil and driving it if so desired. Council agreed to Mayor Renwick' s suggestion and authorized him tp proceed with such shelling as was deemed necesssary, using the Town Marshall and such other labor as was thought necessary to properly do the work. Motion by Councilman H.P .Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman J.J.Francis to adjourn sinie die. Motion carried.
