TOWN COUNCIL, TOVIN OF EDGEWATER,FLORIDA

PL IDA ON :'WEDNESDAY THE 16th DAY OF
MARCH A.D. 1932.
MEETING called to order at 7:30 O' clock p.m. by Mayor
F.R.Renwick, presiding, with the following
officers present.

Councilman J.J.Francis
Councilman H.P.Wilkinson,
Clerk R.C .Fuller.
MINUTES of regular meeting held Wednesday March second,
A.D. 1932, were , upon motion by Councilman H.P.
Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman J.J.Francis,
approved as read. Motion carried.
MOTION by Councilman li.P .Wilkinson, seconded by Council-
man J.J.Prancis , that the regular order of businex
be dispensed with and that Miscellaneous Business
be taken up instead. ,lotion put and unanimously
carried.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS:
Mayor F.R.Renwick, stated that he
had invited Messrs Smith & Fuller, and G.O .Rasco,
local New Smyrna attorneys , to make thier propo-
sition to the Council in reference to the position
of Town Attorney, for the year beginning March 21st
1932.
Lr.Allen Smith, representing the law
firm of Smith & Fuller, made an oral offer to the
council of the services of his firm at a figure nct
to exceed the amount now being paid the Town Atto,
ney, plus the additional service,without charge, of
either he or his associate Mr.Fuller, being present
at all meetings of the Council for such advice as
the Council might require.
Mr.G.O .Rasco, made the same offer iD
the council as did Mr.Smith, with the provision
that regardless of who the Council might select -
trat he would be glad at any time to assist or MI*
ve the council or any member of it in any way he
might.
After discussion: with the Attorney' s
present, relative costs of opinions etc. , Mayor
Renwick, thanked them for thier presence at the
meeting and advised them that they would be notified
of the Council' s decision, whereupon Messrs Smith &
Fuller, and Mr.Rasco, thanked the Council for
the privelige of placing the matter before them,
and retired.
After discussion of the matter,
Councilman J.J.Francis, made the following Motion:
"That the Town of Edgewater, through its Mayor and
Town Council, employ the services of Attorney G.O .
Rasco, for a period of one year from March gist. ,
1932 at a retaining fee of X100.00 ( One hundred

Conclusion-
dollars) payable in advance, and that the Town Clerk be
instructed to draw a Voucher for the amount of $100.00
( One hundred Dollars) in favor of G.O .Rasco for the
purpose as named in this motion, and further that the
Town Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to advise the
present town Attorneys, IV.ressrs Hull,Landis & '.hitehair,
of the action taken by the Council, explaining to them
that action as taken was purely for economical reasons,
and the convenience of having legal representation more
conveniently located to the Town. , and further that Messrs
Smith and Fuller be notified of the Council' s action."
The motion was seconded by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson
and unanimously carried, the vote of the council being as
follows: ,

MOTION by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson seconded by Councilman
J.J.Francis , that the regular order of business be
resumed. Motion carried.

MOTION by Councilman H.P.d ilkinson,
seconded by Councilman J.J.Prancis that the above
named bills be approved and ordered paid as read.
Motion unanimously carried.
REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
Report of Marshall C.T .Ning covering
street work for periods ending March 15th 1932,
were read and ordered filed.
MOTION by Councilman H.P. ilkinson, seconded by
Councilman J.J.Prancis to adjourn sinie
die. Motion unanimously carried, and Council
adjourned.
