08-31-1932 - Regular/Adjourned 1 MINUTES OF REGULAR ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL, TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA , HELD WEINESDAY AUGUST 31 A.D. 1932. Pp MEETING called to order at 7:30 O'clock P.I . by Mayor F.R.Renwick, with the following officers present: &ayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick, Councilman J.J.Francis Councilman H.P.Wilkinson Clerk R.C.Puller MINUTES of regular meeting held August 17th A.D. 1932, were, on MOTION by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman J.J.Francis, approved as read. Motion unanimously carried. COMMUNICATIONS: Clerk read letters exchanged with Mr.J.B. High, Ads't Director of Procurement, Inland Waterway Canal project, with reference to dumping of spoil- age from the canal along the west shore of the North Indian River. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS: Clerk read the following bills: R.C.Fuller, $50. 00 '+'+ar.1 o. 1156 C .T.King, 15.00 a 1157 C.T.King, 6.97 M 1158 MOTION by Councilman J.J.Fr:.ncis, seconded by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, that the above named bills be ordered paid as read. Lotion unanimously carried. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Motion by Councilman J.J.Prancis, seconded by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson that the Budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1st A.D. 1932 and ending September 30th A.D. 1933, be adopted as read, and made a part of these minutes. Motion carried the vote of the Council being as follows: Councilman F.R.Renwick, Yes, Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, Yes, Councilmen J.J. Francis, Yes. A RESOLUTION CONDEMNING THE TOWN WHARF OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA WHEREAS, the Town Council of the Town of Edgewater, Florida, has examined the Town Wharf of the said town, and, after a care- ful examination find the said wharf to be in an unsafe condition, and, WHEREAS, the Federal Government of the United States is widening, deepening, and in places straightening, the Inland Water Way, and, WHEREAS, the plans of the Engineering Depart- ment in charge of the said Inland Water Way show that the channel shall be dug on the West side of the river, which would necessitate the removal of the said town wharf, the town council of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia Coun- ty, Florida, does not think it is to the best interest of the said town to rebuild the said wharf and expend money on same, Continued on page Five- 'w • page 5 INUTES OF REGULAR UTA COUNTY, OFITR_ s BIO n la TOOT OF EDGE1ATER, VOLU AUGUST 31st 1932- THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Coun- cil of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia Coun- ty, Florida, that the said wharf is hereby condemned, and, IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that any person or persons using the said wharf do so at their own risk, and the Town of Edgewater will not be liable for any damages arising out of any injury sustained by such person or persons using the said wharf. The above and foregoing Resolution was intro- duced by Councilman who moved its adoption, said motion being sec- onded by Councilman K, and upon vote was passed and adopted as provid- ed by law on this the c/41day of A.D. , 1932.
