Mr.Kaupp stat en that to place the spoil along the entire river front would be prohibitive in cost to the Town , due to the extra expense his Company would be out to as against the location now provided by the United States Govern- ment. However that it now developed tha t a continous area was not the desire of the ToNI , but only in certain areas , and that his estimate of the cost of placing in the areas described and indi- cated on the sketch maps , would be about 5 c ea is per yard, and his estimate on the amount required in those areas designated would run the cost to approximately Four Thousand Two hundred Dollars ; this based of course on the total number of yards act- ually required . Mayor Renwick stated that it was his idea that possibly a flat price for the job could be agreed upon. Mr.E.A.Lembeck , as Chairman of the Waterway Committee of Citizens , stated that he would advocate the arranging with theContractor for the work on a flat price basis for all the area involved , if possible. Mr.Kaupp stated that it would be possible to secure governnert check on quantity furnished , but that the job would come higher that way. Asked as to the specific amount he stated laths figures were estimated, that until the actual area was shown him and he had an onportunity to figure his cost that he would not be able to name a flat price , that the Fourthousand Two Hundred Dollar figure was an estimate . Mayor Renwick, asked Mr.Kaupp if after he had made a study of the area , if he would then be willing to accept the job on a flat price basis . Mr.Kaupp replied that he would go over the area with Engineer Fee and determine just what portion cf work he could give us and could not name a definate once till this was done. Asked what terns he would require he stated he would accept 10 percent of total cost to be naid in 30 days , and the balance in 60 or 90 days . r A general discussion as to location resulted in the infor- mation that the Town would not place the spoils along any property where the owner of the nrmnerty objected, there having aria on some objections for various reasons . Clerk read bill of E.A.Lembeck for miscellaneous expense incurred in connection with securing the permission of the Inland .Waterway Commission for placing the spoilage on the west shore instead of the designated area , the total amount of the bill which was dated March 23rd 1933 , being 4.85.
