MINUTES of regular meeting held Wednesday July 5th A.D. 1933, were, on MOTION by Councilman J.J.F rancis ,seconded by Counc ilman F.R.Renwick, approved as read . Motion carried. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS : C Clerk read the following bills : Hibbard Hdwe Co. , 43 3.30 R.S.Fee, 22.50 W.C.Silvers , 2 .25 MOTION by Councilmen J.J.Franois , seconded by Councilman F.R.Renwiek , that the above named bills be ordered paid as read . Motion carried. UNFINISHED NEt BUSINESS Subject of securing relief forces from the Government to ditch west of the railroad as per sketch made by the Mayor, was discussed and Council agreed that the Federal Emergency Relief Council be asked to have the work done. FLORIDA UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF COUNCIL RESOLUTION SHOWING THE NECESSITY FOR FEDERAL FUNDS FOR RELIEF WORK PROJECTS BE IT RESOLVED: By the Town of Ddgewater the County of Volusia _ , State of Florida, that the Relief Work proposed by the Town of Edgewater, by and through the COUNTY WORK PROJECT COMMITTEE by its proposal for Work project # 76 , being a project for opening up and widen- ing a drainage ditch starting at the South Canal at a point near the Florida, East Coast Railroad, extending South approx ima.tely 2,000ft. thence West and South for a distance of ap- proximately 1,220 feet. This ditch passes under the Florida East Coast Railroad so as to :ive an open flow of the water which accumulates in the low lands adjacent to the Railroad. There aresome splendid gardens in the vicinity which do not have proper drainage. This is a public Project for the benefit of the General Pub- lic, and not for the benefit of any private interest , that the project embraces work that needs to be done for the gen- eral good of the com unity, thet there are no funds availa- ble,1 , n o r 'v �y way in which local funds may be made av G.it^b 1 e with which to do this work and thnt unless Federal Relief Funds are used for this purpose, the said fork cannot be done at this time, nor at any time within the near future; that any cost and expenses in connection with this project other than for a. tual labor will be paid from the funds of the Town of Edewater; that any liability which may arise by reasons of damage to persons or property in the prosecution of this work will be the liability of the Town of Edgewater Volusia County , Florida, and in no way attributable to the Emergency Relief Council. Meeting called to order by Mayor F.R.Renwick, with the following members present : Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick Councilman J.J.Francis , Clerk, R.C.Fuller. Clerk-Assessor R.C.Fuller, reported that Corporation Assessments by the State Board o f Assessors had not yet been rece ived and that the preliminary Tax Assessment Roll for 1933 was not yet completed »ending receipt of the Assessments by the State Board . Motion by Councilman J.J.Francis , seconded by Councilman F.R. Rerr i. ck to adjourn until 7 :30 O'clock P.11.1. august 2nd 1933.
