Meeting was called to order by Mayor-Councilman Y.R. Renwick at 7:45 P.M. ROLL CALL, Mayor-councilman F.R. Renwick Present Councilman H.P. Wilkinson Present Councilman E.A. Ely Absent Clerk, E.H. Lohman Present Attorney G.O. Rasco Present READING OF MINUTES Minutes of regular meeting of the Ton Council held December 20th, 1933 were read, but approval with-held on account Councilman E.A. Ely's absence. COMUNICATIONS Letter from Mrs. A.H. yells, Detroit Mich relative to opening "Old County Road" was read, and clerk was authorized to answer 1-7rs. ' ells and inform her that the proposed ,opening of the road was being considered as a CWA peoject. Letter from Attorney C.H. Long, Jacksonville , representing the Hill Dredging Co., threatening suit for $5030.00 due his client, unless settlement of some sort was made .within ten days from date of letter, Dec 26th, 1933, was read. Council took no action on this matter. Attorney G.O. Rasco took possession of this letter. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS Clerk read following bills, G.O. Rasco legal services rendered, re; Injunction suit A.L. Lamont et al. vs Wilkinson et al 4150.00; New Smyrna News Co., printing and stationery $14.50; City of New Smyrna lights $2.00; E.H. Lohman, clerks salary for one and one-half months 775.00; E.A. Ely for attendance council meetings $3.00; J.J. Francis for attendance council meetings $5.00; dilkinson for attendance council meetings $7.00; F.R. Renwick. for attendance council meetings $5.00 , but same were not approved on account distribution of funds not having been made. ORDINANCES Councilman II.P. ;;ilkinson presented the following Resolution, viz; " "A resolution recinding the resolution passed by the To Council in which it authorized payment for depositing of spoilage an certain areas of the Indian River North and beautifying a certain water way within the corporate limits of the Town of Edgewater, Volusia county, Fluvida. HALL WEDNESDAY JANUARY 3rd, 1934. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Attorney G.O. Rasco reported t at he recently was in Tallahassee, and conferred A.ith the CWA State project director, relative to the proposed river front C` A project, and that the state project director informed him that no further CWA pr jects ould be approved before February 15th, 1934, but that if the U.S. Congress appropriated additional funds for CWA projects, he would da all he could to have the proposed river front Cd'A project approved. MISCELLANEOUS Yr. Shellenbarger reported the river front road in Highland Shores in very bad condition. Mayor—Councilman F.R. Renwick said the council will look into the matter and try to have same repaired. Councilman H.P. Wilkinson made motion, seconded by Mayor F.R. Renwick that office hours of the Tax Collector at the V.I.A. hall after January 6th, 1934, shall be from 3;00 P.M. to 5;30 P.M. on Tuesdays and Fridays, for the remainder of the tax collecting period.
