Lohman Present Attorney ZIXUKALAAlti Present Gautier READING OF MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting of the Town Council held March 21, 1934 were read and approved on motion made by Eouncilman H. P. Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman E. A. Ely. COMMUNICATIONS None. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS Clerk read the following bills:City of New Smyrna, Florida $2.00 for lights for V.I.A. Hall for the month of Tarch; 1x55 for postage and gasoline for office heat purchased from personal funds of E. H. Lohman; W. M. McLane ;2:00 for hauling 16 cross ties for use in repairing bridge on Knapp Avenue;F. R. Renwick 2i'00 for attendance at Council meetings during larch; Ii. P. Wilkinson, y2:00 for attendance at Council meetings during March; E. A. Ely $2;00 for attendance at Council meetings during March; E. H. Lohman $50:00 for Clerk's salary fo -Uie month of March. G. O. Rasco $75:oo balance due in ng suit to be paid from Emergency fund. The above bills approved by Councilman E. A. Ely and motion seconded by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson. Councilman E. A. Ely moved that4`y700 be advanced City of New Smyrna on yearly light bill for Street Lights in the amount of ;945, year beginning April 1st , and motion second- ed by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson. Motion made by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson that attorney G. 0. Rascots retainer fees for the year of mina. 22, 1934 to March 22, 1935 in the amount of $l0Q.00 be paid, motion seconded by Councilman Ir. $. Rasco ; 100.00 REPORTS OF OFFICERS Clerk read monthly budget report and cash statement, also tax collection report, which were received and ordered made a part of these minutes on motion made by Councilman H. P. Wil- kinson, seconded by Councilman E.. A. Ely. REPORTS OF CO=TTEES. Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick reported, that the necessary cross ties (16) had been received with which to repair the bridge on Knapp Avenue. Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick reported that Mrs. Asendorf had agreed to remove trash on Sanchez Avenue without cost to the Town. ORDINANCES Ordinance No. 50 regulating the speed of motor vehicles was presented and unanimously accepted and approved by the Council. Resolution was introduced by Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick providing for the distribution of 1933 taxes collected after April 1st, to be made on the same basis as if same were not delinquent instead of the customary practice of distributing them to the Permanent Improvement fund. Councilman E. A. Ely moved that resolution be adopted and motion was seconded by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson. Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick reported that he had taken it upon himself to obtain ppice on highway signs four by six feet warning motorists of the speed regulations. Price. quoted him for signs painted on wood, no metal to be used as boys would shoot holes in them, was u7 each for material and painting of sign. This amount not to include upright posts, nor the erection of the signs. Motion made by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson to secure the services of Ray Brewer to make and paint the above mentioned signs, seconded by E. A. Ely. NEW BUSINESS Council voted unanimously to authorize W. 1..1. McLane to build bridge on Knapp Avenue West of Dixie Hiway at a cost not exceeding 4;8.00 Councilman E. A. Ely moved that delinquent tax list, when made, be posted in three public places throughout the Town in- stead of advertising same in the newspapers. Motion was seconded by H. P. Wilkinson, with Clerk E. H. Lohman agreeing to waive his fees for posting. MISCELLANEOUS. Two County Patrolmen from the Office of Sherriff S. E. Store were present at the meeting and offered suggestions and full co-operation with the Town in eliminating traffic accidents. There being no further business it was moved by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson and seconded by Councilman E. A. Ely that the meeting be adjourned.
