1 INDTES OF REGULAR METING OF TEE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY FLORIDA
HELD IN THE V.I .A. HALL WEDNESDAY MAY 1, 1934
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Councilman F.R.Renwiak
at 7:40 P.M.

READING OF MINUTES
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Town Council
held May 2, 1934 were read and approved on motion made by Councilman
E. A. Ely, seconded by Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick.
CO ITUNI CAT I ONS
Communication received by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick was
read by clerk E.H.Lohman, from the university of Florida at
Gainesville, requesting copies of ordinances, copy of the Town
Charter, and other matters pertaining to the operation of the
Town, for the purpose of making a statistical survey. After
kindly offering his services, letter was turned over to the
Town Attorney Mr. G. O. Rasco for his handling.
Clerk read letter from Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick addressed
to County Commissioner J. L. pattillo inviting him to attend the
meeting of the Town Council held May 16, 1934 relative to debate of
ownership of Strand Road.
Letter was read from County Commissioner J.L.Pattillo stating
his regrets at being unable to attend the meeting on account of
other business.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS
Following bills were presented by the clerk; City of New Smyrna
§2:00 for monthly light bill for January 1934 account bill not
previously having been presented: New Smyrna News Company $2:35 for
second sheets and carbon p, .pers with which to make out tax roll
notification. Clerk was instructed to pay these bills on motion
made by Councilman E.A.Ely seconded by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick
and warrants 1463 and 1464 were issued respectively.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
County engineer H.C.Branaman was present at the meeting and
stated that it is his understanding that the Strand Road is the property
of the Town of Edgewater. After general debate question was dropped
and =Ism& held over until such time as County Commissioner
J.L.Pattillo, County Engineer H.C,Branaann, and the Town Council
could meet together, for further discussion.
Peddlers license of the Standard Oil Company still remains
unpaid and attorney G.O.Rasco and Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick
stated that they would personally call on L . L.J.Batz, agent
and present him with a final plea for payment.
There being no further business it was moved by Councilman.
E.A.Ely seconded by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick to adjourn and
meetin; was adjourned at 9 :00 P.M.
