MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OP THE TOWN COUNTCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDDEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA
FE IUD IN THE V.I .A. HALL WEDNESDAY JUNE 6, 1934.
T:a.yor-Councilman F.R.Renwick stated that on May 28th
the State Road Department had removed a quantity of sand and
shell from the Strand Road where it had been placed for use
by the Totem of Edgewater at the Townts expense, and hauled it
to the Dixie Hiway bridge which crosses the Canal. This being
done to repair damage done by recent rains and washouts. Clerk
was instructed to is. ue bill for 50 yards CI, 50% per yard against
the State Road Department and forward bill to C.B.Treadway, Chair
man of the State Road Department at Tallahassee, Florida.
Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick reported that ditch West of .
Dixie Hiway was filling up with palmetto fans and other rubbish
and tree limbs but that action on this would be deferred until
the next council meeting.
Mr. Davis reported that that portion of Park Avenue road
which crossed the ditch just East of the old county road shows
signs of caving in and was in dangerous condition. Mayor-Council
F.R.Renwick suggested that same be investigated by Councilmen.
Wilkinson and Ely, and if necessary hate same repaired at once.
Mr. H.B.Ashcraft reported that drain holes on bridge cross*
canal on the river road had become clo ged up allowing water to
stand on bridge decking which would in a short time cause the
decking to rot out. It was suggested that pipe be placed in the
drain holes which would eliminate to a certain extent the clog- ing
of the drain holes.
There being no further business it was moved by Councilman
E.A.Ely, and seconded by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson that the meeting
be adjourned. Meeting was adjourned at 9:20 P.M.
