MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER VOLUSIA COUNTY FLORIDA
HELD IN THE V.I.A. HALL WEDNESDAY AUGUST 29 , 1934.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick
at 8:00 P.M. who stated that the special meeting was called to
order for the purpose of transacting any business that may come
before the Town Council.

READING OF MINUTES
Clerk read minutes of Tax Equalization Board meetings leld
August 22, 23, 24, and 27th. Minutes were approved on motion made
by Councilman E. A. Ely, seconded by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick.
Clerk read minutes of Special meeting held. July 6th. Minutes
were approved on motion made by Councilman E. A. Ely, seconded by
Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick.

Ma-,ior-Councilman F.R.Renwick received and read the following
communications; Florida World's Fair Commission, "M. Lorenzo
Wilson, Chairman; Florida Actvii,wcia .:-Atiaz; Planning Board, I.I.L.
Montgomery, Chairman;s1gesting flaat plans of any public works
be sent them. State Safety Director, outlining plans for "Save
a life program". Florida State Board of Health, Henry Hanson
outlining mosquito control.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS
Following bills were presented by the clerk: E.H.Lohman
due for fees, F.R.Renwiek $100 salary, E. A. Eli $2:04 salary
E.H. Lohman $50:00 salary, City of New Smyrna $2.00 monthly
light bill, E.A.Ely $120 labor on mosquito control. Checks
1468 to 1493 respectively were issued from the General Fund in
oaLnent.
Motion was made by Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick that clerk
draw warrant upon the Permanent Improvement Fund payable to
G. O. Rasco , Attorney in the amount of $50.00 as a retainer fee
in the Hill Dredging Company versus Town of Edgewater suit.
Motion seconded by Councilman E.A.Ely and clerk issued warrant
number 89 from Permanent Improvement Fund.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Mayor-Councilman received communication from F.;B.Dunn
State Highway foreman at De Land to render bill in triplicate
for 20 yard sand at 50/ per yard account of sand being removed
by the State Road Department for use in repairing the Dixie
Highway.

NEW BUSINESS
Mayor-Councilman F.R.Renwick stated that the grounds around
the V.I.A. Hall had become unsightly, being overgrown with weeds
and grass and made a motion that the grounds be cleaned at a
cost not to exceed $2.00. Motion was seconded by Councilman
E.A.El .
MISCELLANEOUB ed
General discussion was enter into relative to cleaning and
mowing streets fnr the usual fall cleaning. No definite decision
waa reached regarding this .
No further business to come before the meeting motion was made
by Councilman E.A.Ely seconded by MayorQCouncilman F.R.Renwick
that meeting adjourn. Yaeting was adjourned at 11:10 P.M.

The Town Councft of the Town of Edgewater will
receive bids for the removal of the City Gates ,
located on State Highway Nurnoer Four , at the
North limits of the Town of Edgewater , Volusia
County, Florida, on or before 7:30 o'clock P.M.
on the 12th day of September, A. D. , 1934.
Said specifications for the removal thereof may
oe ootained from the Clerk at the V. I. A. Hall.
Said bids are to be sealed and delivered to the
Town Auditor and Clerk on or before the above
mentioned date.
