MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA
HELD IN THE V. I . A. HALL NOVEMBER 7th A .D. ,1934.
Meeting was called to order at 7:45 P .M. , by Mayor-
. Councilman F. R. Renwick.

READING OF MINUTES
Minutes of Special Meeting held November 5th were
read and approved as corrected and amended , on motion of Councilman
E. A. Ely, seconded by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson.
Minutes of Special Adjourned Meeting held November
the 6th were read and approved as corrected on motion made by
Councilman H. P . Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman E. A. Ely.
COMMUNICATIONS
Motion by Councilman E. A. Ely, seconded by Councilman
H. P . Wilkinson to suspend business to hear report of Auditor.
Auditor W. M. White submitted audit of town books. Motion
by Councilman E. A. Ely , seconded by Councilman H. P . Wilkinson
that audit of Wm. O . Gentry, W. Marvin White in charge be received
and adopted and made a part of the Minutes. Motion unanimously
carried.
BILLS AND ACCOUNTS
Th following bills were presented: New Smyrna Novelty
Works , ;.9(4 or frame for Century of Progress Certificate. F. R.
Renwick, 5.50‘,Notary fees on contract fc;a' removing city gates .
Wm. O. Gentry, W. Marvin White , ;100,00 for annual audit. Motion
by Councilman H. P . Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman E. A. Ely
that bills be ordered paid as read . Motion carried. War.1547-49 issued.
Reported by Auditor W. Marvin White that Warrants 1477
to 1480 inclusive drawn as salary during Tune for Council and
Clerk were omitted from Minutes of July 6th. Motion by Councilman
E. A. Ely, seconded by Mayor-Councilman F. R. Renwick, that checks
be approved .
Auditor W. Marvin White reported that in the audit he
found that Clerk E. H. Lohman over remitted to the Town the sum
of ;9.80 and suggested to the council that a Wvrant be drawn
to Clerk for ;7.59(from General Fund and U2.21Kfrom the Permanent
Improvement Fund. Moved by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson, seconded
by Councilman E. A. Ely that warrants for the above be issued.
Carried. Gen.Fund Warrants 1546 & P.I .F. Warrant #91 issued.
The suggestion was made by Auditor,-W. Marvin White that
a Warrant transferring the amount of *68.16(from the Permanent
Improvement Fund to the General Fund be issued. This amount over
remitted in Permanent Improvement Fund. Motion that same be done
made by Councilman E. A. Ely , seconded by councilman H. P. Wilkinson.
Motion carried. Warrant P.f.F #92 was issued.
No further business to come before the old Council, motion
made by Councilman 7. P . Wilkinson, seconded by councilman E. A. Ely
that Council adjourn. Same adjourned at 9 ;05 P . M. Sine Die.

NEW BUSINESS
Paul D. Leddin a Notary Public administered the oath
of office to Councilman Elect C . D. Bartlett who took his seat
as a member of the Council same being vacated by Mayor-Councilman
F. R. Renwick.
Paul D. Leddin a rotary Public administered oath of office
to Town Clerk Elect E. H. Lohman who took his seat as Town Clerk
to succeed himself.
Continuation of Council under new members , ideeting called
to order by Councilman E. A. Ely .

On motion made by Councilman C. D. Bartlett and seconded
by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson that Councilman E. A. Ely be elected
to serve as Mayor for the ensuing year , Councilman H. P. Wilkinson
moved , seconded by Councilman C. D . Bartlett that nominations
be closed.
Votes for Mayor as follows: Two for Councilman E . A. Ely.
Unanimously elected.
UNFINISHED BUSIFIESS
Motion was made by Councilman C . D. Bartlett , seconded by Mayor-
Councilman E. A. Ely that Judge I . Stewart be employed as associate
Attorney tp defend suit with Town Attorney G. O . Raseo , versus

1 II SCELLAPEOUS
Complaint was made by R. R. Jhellenberger, a tax payer,
that V. I . A. Hall grounds and porch had become unsightly and
recommended that same be cleaned. Councilman H. P . Wilkinson made
a motion , seconded by Mayor-Councilman E. A. Ely , that Councilman
C. D. Bartlett see that this work be done . 'Motion carried.
No further business to come before the Board , Motion by
Councilman U. D. Bartlett , seconded by Councilman H. P . Wilkinson,
that meeting adjourn. Meeting adjourned at 9: 45 P .11.
