Lod NmOr • MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUtvTY,FLORIDA HELD IN THE V.I.A. HALT., MARCH 6TH, A.D. ,L935• Meeting was called to order at 8:001/..M. , by Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely. ROLL CALL: Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely Present Councilman H.P.Wilkinson Present Councilman C .D.Bartlett Present Clerk E.H.Lohman Present Attorney G.O .Rasco Present EADING OF MINUTES Minutes of Regular Meeting held February 20th were read and approved on motion of Councilman C.D.Bartlett , seconded by Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely, Councilman H.P .Wilkinson not voting. COMMUNICATIONS Letter received from P.B .Dick a property owner of Edgewater, now residing in New York City , addressed to Mayor- Councilman E.A.Ely was read requesting permission of the Council to place his property, Lot #6, Sheppard and Sanchez Grant , which now is assessed as a subdivision back into acreage, stating in his letter that County had placed this lot back into acreage for assessment purposes. After general discussion Clerk was instructed to reply to Mr. Dick' s letter informing him that assessment would have to continue as a subdivision as heretofore , on motion of Councilman H.P .Wilkinsori, seconded by Councilman C.D.Bartlett. BILLS AND ACCOUNTS The following bills and sa: ries were presented: Mayor-ouncilman E .A.Ely, Salary $2.00 Councilman C .D.Bartlett , 02.00 Councilman II.P. ilktnson )1.00 Clerk..H.Loh�nan $50.00 ( Marshall T.A.Swa 420.00 J.J.Loftin x,27.00 labor on streets ; Tames Owen $ .60 labor on street.. ; Tom Brooker $5.60 ( labor on streets ; T.A.Swann $5.00f use of tractor on streets ; City of New Smyrna monthly light bill for hall, 42.00( Motion by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman C .D. Bartlett that these bills be paid. Warrants 1592 to 1601 inclusive were issued for the above . REPORT OF OFFICERS Clerk read Monthly Report. Motion was made by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman C.D.Bartlett that report be made a part of the :Minutes. Marshall Swann reported that tourists coming south out of New Smyrna on the Strand become confused and cannot find way back to Dixie Highway. It was suggested that a sign be placed at the corner of Hamilton Road and the Strand giving directions back to the Highway. Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely agreed to handle this . STANDING CON LTTEE After general discussion with regard to purchasing a grader for use on Town streets Council decided to defer action and investigate further. MISCELLANEOUS Councilman C.D.Bartlett reported that Mrs.A.R.Patch wanted moss removed from trees opposite her property on Ocean Abenue, The matter was discussed but no action taken. MISCELLANEOUS- Contd Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely brought before the Council the matter of arrests by County Patrolmen of drivers passing the school bus when same was off the pavement at the corner of Park Avenue and the Dixie Highway . After general discussion no action was taken. Attorney G.O.Rasco reported that he had received notice that the suit of the Hill Dredging Company versus the Town of Edgewater would be heard in Federal Court at Jacksonville March 19 , at 10:00 A.1% , and that he would be there to represent the Town. No further business to come before the Board, motion to adjourn was made by Councilman C.D.Bartlett , seconded by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson. Council adjourned at 10 :00 P.M.
