MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL
OF THE TOWN OF EDGEWATER, VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA

Meeting was called to order at 7: 50 P.M. , by Mayor-Councilman .

READING OF MINUTES:
Minutes of Regular Meeting held April 3rd were read
and approved on motion of Councilman H.P. °Vilkinson, seconded
by Councilman C. D. Bartlett.
COMMUNICATIONS:
None.
BIT.T„S AND ACCOUNTS :
The following bill were presented: Galion Iron Works ,
One Street Scraper485.00 ;T. A. Swann, 10 Gallons Gas , trip
to Orlando , 42.15 City. of New Smyrna, One day' s Pris9n Board
for David Hammond 4.65)1T. A. Swann, one Sirep $8.3741 S . L.
DeLoach, hauling Scraper from Orlando 415.00( T. A. Swann, 12
hours praetor labor 7.50 e C. T. King, 21 hours burning brush,
$4.20 T. J. Loftin, 23 hours street labor and burning brush
(foreman) 46.90( T. E. Cory, oil and gas for tractor, 41.22.(
Motion by Councilman C. D. Bartlett , seconded by Councilman
H.P.Wilkinson that the above bills be paid. Warrants #' s 1617 ,
1618, 1621, 1622, 1625, 1626 , 1627, 1628 and 1629 were issued.
SPECIAL COMITTEE:
Clerk Lohman was requested to confer with New Smyrna
officials in regard to cutting off two street lights to keep
with within the street lighting budget. He reported the New
Smyrna officials favorable. Motion was made by Councilman
C. D. Bartlett, seconded by Councilman H. P. Wilkinson that
one light on Park Avenue east of the Dixie Highway and one
light on Strand and Ocean Avenue be removed, and the City of
New Smyrna notified to remove the above two lights.
Clerk was instructed to write to the City of New Smyrna
with reference to calling their fire Department in case of fire.
• MISCELLANEOUS:
A lease was presented by Mr. R. S. Fee for the Industrial
Marine Company wishing to lease for a period of five years a
strip of land 9 feet 4 inches extending into Railroad Street,
this space to be used for an office building. The said Industrial
Marine Company agrees to pay the sum of 41.00 for the use of same
for a period of five years, stating further that said 9 feet
four inches of street would be vacated upon written notice six
months in advance. After a general discussion Council seemed
favorable but will report later.
Councilman H.P. Wilkinson reported that former Town
Attorney G.U. Rasco wished to be relieved as attorney in the
Wharton suit. As Attorney Rasco had agreed to defend this suit
until the Town appointed an attorney, no action was taken.

MISCELLANEOUS-Continued. •
Motion by Councilman H.P.Wilkinson, seconded by
Councilman C. D. Bartlett that street scraper be cleaned and
painted, and Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely be instructed to purchase
paint and hire a man to do the work.
No further business to come before the Board motion by Councilman
• H.P.Wilkinson, seconded by Councilman C.D.Bartlett that meeting
adjourn. Council adjourned at 10 :00 P.M.
