Meeting was called to order at 8 a 00 P .M. by Mayor-Council- man E.A.Ely. ROLL CALL: Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely Present Councilman C.D.Bartlett Present Councilman H.P.Wilkinson Absent Clerk E.H.Lohman Present Attorneys Smith & Fuller Present READING OF MUTES: Minutes of Regular Meeting held May 1st were read and approved on motion of Councilman C.D.Bartlett , seconded by Mayor-Councilman E.A.Ely. COtae!UNICATIONS: Letter was read from L.R. Turner asking tax reduction on his property. Action was deferred until Equalization Board meets. Also letter from fir. F.D.Bristley, President of the New Smyrna Chamber of Commerce relative to building jetties at Ponce De Leon Inlet. Motion was made by M'ayor-Councilman E.A.Ely, seconded by Councilman C.D.bartlett that a Resolution favoring the project be drawn and sent to Florida representatives in Congress . BILLS AND ACCOUNTS: The following /bills were presented: Smith & Fuller , Town Attorneys, X137.50 , (Annual Retainer Fee !lay lst ,1935 to Aril 30th,. l936 ,$100.OQ , and quarterly Fee May 1st , 1935 to August 1st , 9.35, $37.50) ; I . Warrants #1654 to 1659 inclusive were issued. ORDINANCES : An Ordinance was drawn extending the time for payment of 1934 taxes until June let , 1935. Ordinance #55 aaa presented by Councilman C.D.B: rtlett . Motion by Councilman C.D.Bartlett seconded by Mayor-Councilman E.A.,aly t hat Ordinance by passed as read. Motion that second reading of Ordinance be waived was made by Councilman C.D.Bartlett , seconded. by Mayor-Council- man E.A.Ely. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A Petition was presented by R.C.Huettick a property owner, with 26 signatures requesting Council to have part Of buildirr built and owned by the Industrial Marine Company located on Railroad Street extending 9 feet 4 inches into the street removed. Yore data will be furnished by these gentlemen at the next Council Meeting. -ISCELLANEOUS : Paul Leddin made a suggestion that he thouglit that a special assessment could be made arTainst all property now • benefited by the 7oA.estead Exemption to raise $$666.66 for street lighting, the Town to raise the balance of a total of 11000.00.
