Hail, February 2, 1907. —eeting ws called to order at 7:40 P. M. • The Roll Call we.s answered by Mayor-Councilman C. D. Bartlett Councilman H. L. Haughton . Fuller Reading of Minutes The minutes of the regular meeting of January 19th were read and upon motion of Mr. Adams, seconded by Mr. Haughton were approved as read. Motion Carried. Communications A letter was read from A. I. Pooser, Superintendent 'of Florida East Coast Railroad, in reference to use of Railroad Lot as playgrounds. The rational Emergency Council' s letter of January 29, 1937, in reference to the Red Cross needs account flood conditions was read. Bills and Accounts C. D. Bartlett- Mayor-Councilman ; 2.00 H. L. Fuller, Clerk, Office Supplies 8.59 Mr. Haughton moved that the bills be approved as read, Seconded by Mr. Adams. Motion Carried. Reports of Officers The Clerks Cash Statement for the period Jan.l to Jan 30th, was read and upon motion by Mr. Haughton seconded by Mr. Adams, it accepted as read and ordered made a part of the minutes. Motion carried. The Clerk reported that he had paid the Town' s note of X500.00 dated April 28, 1936 , 0ue the First Atlantic Nab.ional Bank of Daytona Beach, Florida. , and that the cancelled note had been received. Ordinances Attorney Allen Smith was instructed to prepare an ordinance relative to volunteer Fire Department. Unfinished Business Irr. Adams moved that the Clerk be instructed to write Mr. A. I. Pooser, Superintendent of Florida East Coast Railway, that it would be impossible for the Town, because of financial inability at this time, to provide a fence on their lot in case it was used as a playground. Seconded by Mr. Haughton and upon vote declared carried. It was moved by ulr. Adams, seconded by Mr. Haughton that the Electric Light located on Park Avenue between Dixie Highway and She Railroad be moved to Ocean Avenue and Fernald Street. Carried. New Business Mr. Adams moved that the Town proceed in accordance with Ordinance #64, to clean up all lots within the territory bounded by Lamont Street on the North, Palmway Ave. , on the South, Dixie Highway on the West and the Strand on the East. Further that notices be posted upon aha sent to Owners of Lots and that the necessary funds be taken from the Emergency account in the General Fund. kr. Haughton seconded, the motion, which upon vote was declared carried. Mr. Haughton moved that the resolution of May 5, 1936 placing Fines and Forfeitures in the Permanent Improvement Fund be hereby rescinded and that hereafter until otherwise ordered by Council all Fines and Forfeitures be placed in the Emergency Account of the General Fund. Seconded by Mr. Adams and upon vote declared carried. Mr. Adams moved that the Town pay one-half of the monthly cost of a Two Party Line Telephone in the Marshall' s residence, account of this telephone being installed for Emergency Calls , seconded by Mr. Haughton and upon vote declared carried. Miscellaneous Marshall Swann was ordered to request the Fire Chief at New Smyrna to find out when a Fire Alarm came from Edgewater whether it was a. Brush Fire or a House Fire and to answer only House Fires . Apparatus to be sent for Brush only upon request from t+ardiall Swann or sone one in authority when he was away.
