Minutes of Regular Meeting of Town uouncil of Edgewater , Volusia
County, Florida, held in V. Y . A. Hall March 16th, 1937.
Meeting was called to order at 7:35 P. M. by Mayor-councilman U. D.
Bartlett.

Reading of Minutes
The minutes of the regular Meeting of Larch 2nd, 1937 were read and
upon motion made by Mr. Adams , seconded by Mr. Haughton, were approved
as read. carried.
communications
A letter from Fred D. Wild about notice served upon him to clean lot
was read. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Wild explaining
the lot cleaning program.
A letter from the State Road Department of Florida dated March 3 , 1937
was read.
A letter from W. Homer Smith, 'Tax Assessor, dated March 9 , 1937 was
read.
Bills.
The following bills were read:

Upon motion by Mr. Adams, seconded by Mr. Haughton, the bills were
approved as read and ordered paid. carried.
Ordinances
Ordinance No. 66 "An Ordinance providing for an occupational license tax
on each and every person or corporation selling and/or delivering any
goods , wares or merchandise, from any motor truck or other vehicle in the
Town of Edgewater, Florida, and providing a penalty for the failure to ob-
tain such license." , was read and upon motion duly made and seconded, the
said ordinance was passed on second reading and was ordered put on
final passage.
Ordinance No. 66 was passed upon final passage , the vote of the council
being as follows .
Mayor-Councilman C. D. Bartlett Yes
councilman H. L. Haughton Yes
Councilman Ralph Adams. Yes.
Unfinished Business
Marshall Swann reported the cost of a new Siren as 1;75.00. He was
requested to place an ad in the Municipal Record for a used Siren
and report results.
New Business
The Mayor and Marshall were requested to inve9tigate the necessary lot
cleaning required to protect against fires, Mr. J. A. Babkirk' s
property on the Old County Road.
It was moved by Mr. Haughton, seconded by Mr. Adams that we do now
adjourn. Time 8:20 P. M.
