Meeting called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Mayor Councilman C.D.Bartlett. Roll Call. The minutes of the regular meeting of April 20th were read and upon motion made by Mr.Adams,seconded by Mr. Haughton,were approved as read. Carried. Communications. Letters were read from: Florida League of Municipalities dated April 24, 1937. Program Committee of 50th Anniversary Celebration of New Smyrna. Florida League of Municipalities dated April 24, 1937 in reference to placing an overall limitation,not exceeding 15 mills on real estate for operating purposes. Bills and Accounts. Reports of Officers. The Clerk read the Financial Statement and the Budget Statement for the month of 4,PRIL. Mr.Haughton moved liiat the statements be approved and made a part of these minutes,seconded by Mr.Adams and by vote declaed carried. Unfinished Business. Moved by Mr.Adams, seconded by Mr.Haughton,that the map of Edgewater made by the office of the County Tax Assessor '.Homer Smith,be accepted, if the map is completed as regards boundaries, and that upon delivery of a satisfactory tracing so completed,the sum of ;50. M asked for this map be paid and that this amount he taken from the Fines and Forfeitures account of the General Fund. Carried. The Clerk made report as to a verbal request from ':Irs.Jora Christenson regarding access to her lots Nos. 1 1 to 20 inclusive on Palmetto St. shown on Midway Park Sub.Plat map as having no outlet. The Clerk was instructed to advise Mrs.Christenson that there were no new develo oeelents in t':iat section of the Town that would justify Council at this time in starting condemnation proceedings to acquire property for street purposes. Mr.Rogers,owner off' lot 4 on I nal). Ave• in Raulerson Sub. proposed,through the Clerk,that if Council would clean two lots west of the Dixie Highway,that he would clean the lot east of his and his own lot,thereby benefiting that section of the Town. The Clerk was instructed tc advise 'Ar.qogees that Council has his request under consideration and will have to defer action for the present. T.A.Swanu was given peraission to re:iove one pine tree on Park Ave.S.R. from V. I.A.Hall which interferred with widening of street. By unanimous approval,Mr.J.U.Gillespie was ap?ointed as representative of the Town for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the City of New Smyrna. New Business.
