REGULAR. MEETING OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF EDGEWATER, FLORIDA
HELD IN V. I . A. HALL ON AUGUST 3rd, 1937.
Meeting called to order at 7:35 P. I. by Mayor Councilman C .D.Bartlett.

Reading of Minutes.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July 20th, 1937 were
read and upon motion made by Mr. Adams,, seconded by Mr. Haughton
these minutes were accepted as read. CARRIED.

Upon motion by Mr. Adams ,seconded by Er. Haughton the
bills were approved as read and ordered paid. CARRIED.
Reports of Officers.
The Clerk, read a Cash Statement for the period July 1st to
July 30th, 1937 and a statement for the same period on Budget Appro-
priations and Expenditures.
Mr. Haughton moved that the report be approved as read and
that it be made a part of the minutes of this meeting. Seconded by
:'r. Adams and upon vote declared Carried.
Ordinances.
Ordinance No. 67 Entitled " An ordinance amending section eight
of ordinance No. 29 and repealing section nine of said ordinance
No. 29 as amended by ordinance No. 41, and repealing said ordinance NO..
41 SO AS TO ABOLISH THE PAYMENT OF POLL TAXES AS A PREREQUISITE FOR
VOTING ITT ELECTI0NB OF THE SAID TOWN OF EDGEWATER. " was read on its
first reading.
By unanimous vote Ordinance No. 67 was passed to its second
reading.
Mr. Adams moved that the second reading of Ordinance No. 67 be
waived and that this Ordinance be put upon final passage. Seconded by
Mr, Haughton and upon vote declared Carried.
Ordinance No. 67 was then put upon final passage, the vote being
as follows ;

New Business.
A Tentative Budget for the Year Oct. 1st, 1937 to :Sept. 30th,
1938 was submitted as follows;
Streets and Drainage $800.00
Street Lighting 900.00
Salaries Councilman Clerk 750.00
Legal and Elections 300.00
.ayors Court and Marshalls Salary 600.00
Office Expenditures , Lights , Heat
Clerks Bond and Office Supplies 280.00

Total $4000.00
_ir. Haughton moved that the tentative budget be accepted,
approved, a copy be spread on the minutes of this meeting and that
four ( 4 ) copies be posted as required by Law. Seconded by 7::r. Adams
and upon vote declared Carried.
Unfinished Business.
Marshall Swann reported progress on the two street signs for
Orange Ave. and also the placing of the Fire Siren.
r. Haughton moved that we do now adjourn. Seconded by Mr.
Adams and upon vote declared Carried. Time 8:25 P.M.
