09-07-1937 - Tax Equalization Board P yi < . a 0 t ADJOURNED METING OF THE B0ARD OF EQUILIZATION HELD IN V.I .A. HALL ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 1937. Meeting was called to order at 7:00 P .M. by Mayor Councilman C.D.Bartlett. ROLL CALL. Mayor Councilman C.D.Bartlett Present. Councilman H.L.Haughton Present. Councilman Ralph Adams Present. Attorney J.U.Gillespie Present. Clerk Walter C .Fuller Present. C.W.Smi.th and Milton L. Fuller appeared on behalf of Maybelle Lohman, hereupon the Board proceeded to discuss the objections to the valuation of the South 1/2 of Lot 4 Sec. 50, Sheppard and Sanchez Grant and after full consideration, it was the opinion of all of the members of the Boars, after further consultation with. the Town Clerk, that the valuation for taxes of $6260. ,as placed upon this property, is fair and equitible and consistant with the valuations placed upon other properties similiarly situated. Hereupon it was properly moved by Councilman Adams , seconded by Councilman Haughton that the said petition be denied insofar as the same applies to a lower valuation than $6260. , and that, the said valuation of $6260.. be approved and confirmed. Carried. Mr. C.Lutz appeared before the Board requesting reduction in the . valuation on Lot 5 Assessors Sub. of Lowd Estate Lot 2 Sec. 2 Twp. 18 S .R.34 E., calling the Boards attention to a ditch which went. thru his Lot. and which ditch was for the purpose of draining the Highway. Upon motion by Councilman Haughton, seconded by Councilman Adams , the valuation was approved and confirmed as being consistent with valuations on adjoining properties. CARRIED. Councilman Adams moved. that the valuations. placed on Lots 217, 218 and 219 Assessors Sub.. of Mendals H.P . or Homestead be approved and confirmed, these valuations being consistent with the valuations on adjoining properties and that the Clerk so notify the owner A.B .rarnsworth. Seconded by Councilman Haughton and upon vote declared carried. Coucilman Haughton moved that the valuation placed on Lots 2, 3, and 4 Block. A, Section 3 Highland Shores Sub. be approved and confirmed as these valuations were consistent with the valuations on adjoining properties and that the Clerk so notify the owners W.L. and Dotty P . agner. Seconded by Councilman Adams and upon Vote declared carried. The Board considered Eleanor Marshalls letters of Aug. 1st, and Aug. 11th, 1937, wherein no designated lots were specified, and , upon review of her entire properties located in Hawks Park Land Cots Sub. the Following motion was made by Councilman Adams ; That. the Valuations placed upon these lots in their respective locations are in accordance with the valuations placed on adjoining and similar properties and are therefore con- firmed and approved . Seconded by Councilman Haughton and upon vote declardd Carried. It was moved by Councilman Adams , seconded by Councilman Haughton that we do now adjourn . Carried.
